We stayed at the Hotel Beethoven for 5 nights in July, the 16th being my 70th birthday. The Hotel’s location is perfect, in a quiet side road (no traffic noise at all in our room) but minutes away from the city centre by tube, which by the way, is clean, fast, cheap and safe—the best way to get around really.... This hotel is really lovely. The decor is stunning with art and stylish furniture throughout the building. I am told the rooms on the top floor were individually designed by a Austrian designer and the room on the floor below were individually designed by an English designer. We had a room on this floor and it was stunning. All rooms... More

Hotel Beethoven is a hotel that strives to keep its classic sensibilities while keeping its rooms and services modern. My room itself had classic decor, but it was new and clean looking and was not wore out. I was most excited when I got to the hotel because it was my first hotel of my trip with a bathtub. The... Room was clean comfortable (our first stay we were in very small rooms, and the second time around (on the same trip) we were in larger - far more spacious rooms, which were much better. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfast is simply incredible, it's worth it to stay here for this alone!

Flew in from NY & arrived around 1000. Rooms not ready (check in from 1400) but they did get one room sorted by 1200 & the other very soon after. Free tea/coffee & Wi-Fi on the first floor which kept us occupied whilst waiting for the rooms. Rooms very functional but not massive. Bed very comfortable, felt like a memory... More

We found this hotel by chance and we were delighted with the location and the service. The decoration of the room was a bit odd, but it was comfortable and the breakfast was good. All of the major sights were within a short distance. Very good value for the price.

True hospitality this hotel has. I appreciate greatly to the owner and the staff of the hotel who sent me my luggage forgotten at the hotel, from Vienna to Japan immediately. I love the hotel and Vienna.

Just outside the Innere Stadt, and maybe five minutes away from the Opera, with plenty of informal dining on the street market nearby. A charming atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, super breakfast.

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
