I arrived on Easter Sunday to the sounds of live music and an invitation to join the free "recital" after settling in my room. On the bed was a lovely dyed egg and chocolates. The bed was very comfortable, the room spotless and quiet. The breakfast buffet was sumptuous and a pleasure to the eye and palate. My only downside... More

I just got back from a 10 day stay at the Hotel Beethoven in Vienna and I really enjoyed my stay there. The hotel is in an excellent location, the breakfast is fantastic and my room was very quiet. It was kept very clean and was very good value for the money. I made the reservation based on tripadvisor which... More

Booked this hotel through booking.com. Great location but the room was fairly disappointing. We were in room 107 - clean but very basic - white washed walls and in need of a make over and some TLC. The decor looked tired. I have seen more character in a travel lodge room. We had booked the trip for our anniversary, the... More

Nice location close to markets and short walk to town centre. The rooms are clean and staff helpful. They have an area for tea at night and our room was large and well kept. The room had the essentials and was quite. It's iff the main road and well positioned. Hotel staff helped organise tours and directions. It's not hard... More

We booked the hotel & paid in advance - so upon our arrival we were upgraded to a nicer room. It was a corner room & hit had a very cool layout - I'd recommend requesting it. The staff was very friendly, the included breakfast was a delicious spread, the decor retro-traditional-quirky & in general the hotel was modest, but... More

Great location. We had a very spacious room 205. Bathroom a little small in comparison. They had a piano recital in the evening for free which was brilliant. Breakfast nice with hot option. Bar area small but they have a fab library where you can relax. Staff good and they arrange a transfer for airport if needed.

We only stayed one night but great location and kind of quirky hotel - purple walls. Great buffet breakfast but beds could use an update. Elevator is super small but walk up the full 6th floors where stairway is large and very clean. Very helpful front desk staff

This hotel is in two minutes walking distance from Karlsplatz, about 10 min from the Opera house and about 15-20 min from Stefan's Dome. The staff are very helpful and professional. Our double room was average in size for a European hotel; same with the bathroom (although it may be on the larger side, again, for a European hotel bathroom... More

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
