Just book this fine establishment, a place where hospitality and customer service are provided from a family run hotel who care about their reputation. Great rooms, gardens, breakfast, and a suburban location, right at tram stop, very safe and secure, and very fairly priced. Front desk staff treat you so well, one of the best service places we stayed at... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Jager in September 2014. The hotel was staff were very friendly and helpfull, our room was quite being at the back of the hotel which we had requested before arrival. The hotel also helped us with transport directions from the airport via train and underground by answering our email request. The hotel is... More

Having initially chosen this hotel from the photos posted on tripadvisor, we imagined that the hotel would be a bit more secluded and "off the beaten path." It does lie on a main street in Vienna, though that turned out not to be a problem at all. The hotel is in every way - from the staff, to the breakfasts,... More

Convenient for tramline so easy to get in and out of Vienna. Rooms are comfortable if a little dull. Although it is near a main road it is quiet as it is set back with attractive, well kept garden to the front. Good breakfast with lots of choice and choice to have this outside in the garden or in a... More

We were lucky to be given an upgrade, and the rooms were very comfortable and quiet. Breakfasts were tasty and plentifyul. The Jager is a good value in an expensive city with a nice garden at the entrance. Pleasant staff and comfortable, fairly sizable rooms. The breakfast is very good in a cozy dining room. The location very near a street car stop that takes you directly to the city cent in 15-20 minutes. Super fast free Wi-Fi. Limitations.. Not much... More

We spent three nights, four days here. Comfortable, friendly, charming; the breakfasts and cake were superb! For us the highlight was the serene secluded garden, providing a much needed space to relax and cool down after some strenuous sightseeing. It is very easy to find and the access to the Innerestadt is excellent, about 15 minutes via regular trams.

I just submitted a review and remarked on the excellent breakfast, but failed to state how enjoyable the garden and patio was for breakfast at Hotel Jager! Impeccably maintained, flowers, shrubs, bird feeders, etc.... Wonderful stay!~

Staying in Ottakring

Neighborhood Profile
Ottakring
The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).
