Vienna was a quick break in our 3 week Europe itinerary. We needed something in the middle of all the action and yet, something that was affordable and comfortable. Das Opernring checked off all those things and more! Convenient location, right next to a tram stop, opera, great food, and walking distance from the station and most of the city's... More

Had a wonderful stay with my mother, my uncle and aunt. Great staff, at the arrival our room was still busy so we had a free room upgrade in suite! Big and very comfortable rooms, this hotel is in a perfect position to reach all the attractions (many of them few steps from you). Close to subway!

Stayed one night on a week-long tour of several Austrian cities. The hotel is a bit dated and the rooms are average but the service was very nice. There is one person at the front desk, I can't remember his name, who made our check in very memorable! The location is good for walking tours of Vienna. We never needed... More

We stayed on the fourth floor and had a very nice Junior suite, with a nice view towards the Opera. Staff was splendid, and the breakfast was really nice - in a really nice breakfast room. Almost everything of interest is within easy walking distance. Otherwise it is very close to the subway, Wiener U-Bahn (Karlsplatz). The trams are also... More

I recently returned to Vienna, Austria for a reunion of students with whom I studied in Vienna 50 years ago. Since studying in Vienna in the mid 1960's, I have returned often to Vienna and stayed in numerous hotels. . .This October 2015, through American Express Travel, I booked my "Reunion Trip" and selected to stay two weeks at Das... My spacious and comfortable room on the fourth floor had an incomparable view through the plane trees of the Opernring to the Opera House and the Hofburg. Harald and his team at Reception made me feel quite at home and could not have done more to assist in providing a joyous stay in Vienna. And almost everything of interest is... More

Don't visit here if you want a peaceful night, there is a noisy nightclub right underneath the hotel. Even the noise from the restaurant in slightly annoying. Aside this if your here Sunday through Wednesday the noise won't be a problem as the club is shut on those days.

I booked online and accidentally booked with the lower non-refundable rate. When my travel plans changed to include a friend joining us from England I wrote to ask for another room just for her, but they were booked up. However for a reasonable fee they offered to add a bed to our room, which I thought was just fine and... More

This is the first time I am writing a review before checking out from a hotel. And I rarely rate a hotel excellent. But breaking both rules here. And only because they deserve it! The great experience started from the time I emailed them for booking. Herald was the one interacting with me and helped me out with the booking.... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
