We stayed at the Hilton Vienna Danube for a two night weekend in late May. It was a relatively quick ride from the airport having pre-booked a taxi on line for €35. We were given a suite which had an enormous bathroom and a nice view looking out over the Danube River. The reception was very welcoming and all the... More

I think Hilton has been one of my most favourite hotels as the rooms are very spacious and have very good air conditioning, especially for the temperatures we were suffering from outside. Breakfast was lovely with different varieties of food.My kids absolutely adored the Nutella cupcakes, and especially my younger one who loved the big pot I also really enjoyed... More

Staff at front desk had a bad attitude. My husband eventually asked to speak to the Manager who was fortunately more reasonable and amiable to our request. They treat you like a second-class citizen if you don't book directly through the hotel. We made an advance purchase through booking.com & soon thereafter the Hilton had a "sale" so our rooms... This hotel is located outside the city center in a residential area only 5-10 min walk to the metro station (Stadion) which is besides a nice modern shopping mall and the soccer stadium. The hotel is a typical Hilton with large rooms with two queen beds, difficult to find in Europe and very convenient if traveling with kids. The hotel... More

We stayed here in May of this year as part of our 10 week holiday. WE had 2 Queen Beds in our room as well as a Couch and Desk and Chair with a view overlooking the Danube. There were 4 pillow on each bed. We had executive club access where you could have your breakfast and snacks during the... More

After a train ride from Prague, we checked in at this hotel for 3 nights while we were in Vienna. As a gold member so we got an upgrade. The room was big (2 queen size beds) and has a Danube view which is fabulous! We woke up every morning and enjoyed the view very much. The executive lounge located... More

Classic Hilton Hotel. Excellent staff throughout. Waterfront room with Executive lounge access was great plus for two couples on a four day city break. Room was large and very comfortable. Ate in restaurant twice and very happy both times. Good wine advice. Executive lounge was great and would represent brilliant low cost option for family as includes breakfast, soft drinks/snacks... We have stayed in this hotel for 3 nights between 17th-20th July. Everything about the hotel was just excellent and hardly have anything to complain about. I am listing down my experiences below: - the main plus of this hotel is its location, by the river Danube. Make sure you get a room with the river view to wake up... More

5 mins from a U-station so central Vienna to the hotel in under 30 mins. At first I thought it was too far from the action in the city but in fact the U is so efficient it wasn't a problem at all. Caters for large groups of travellers mainly families so if you don't like loads of kids at... More

Hotel is good somehow near to metro station, but pool is so small no with no life guard so you can leave kids alone. As an advice if shopping is one of your main interests in travelling avoid Saturday & Sunday in Vienna everything is closed. Wifi is not free in the rooms and that was not good, I see... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
