Great hotel. Cheap and pretty central. Stayed two nights here in May 2015 and have no complaints. Price is right. Staff are friendly and speak very good English (which was appreciated as I was exhausted and do not know much German). I would highly recommend, as long as you know there are no frills here. Just a clean and modern... More

We stayed here for the Eurovision Song Contest. The hotel is very clean and modern and the staff at the reception is very friendly. They did more than just their jobs; they also started conversations and were (or seemed to be) genuinely interested. The rooms were fine and the shower was very strong. The wifi worked very well. Only negative... More

This is a clean, modern hotel. There are multi-person rooms. I stayed in a private double room and it was worth the money. It's worth noting that access to the subway is about a 10 minute walk. It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the other side of the city center. Vienna is terrific though and walking is so... More

Me and some friends stayed in this hotel when traveling to Vienna for the weekend. We stayed in a double room that was extremely cheap in terms of normal hotel standards. I was very surprised by how nice it actually was! It has a very good location somewhat close the city (about 15 min walk, 10 by Ubahn). It was... More

We spent two nights in the tripple room on the top floor. Unfortunatelly, the hotel did not impress us for following reasons: 1. The room was incredibly hot without any chance to cool it down. There was something like aircon but it was not working. We stayed there at beginning of May (it was 18-22°C outside during the day), so... More

The place is really nice. The furniture and the rooms are quite modern. The staff are friendly but dont know much about the city (i.e. I asked how to get to Staatopera and they didnt know). However, follows below the bad things: 1) the AC didnt work on my room. 2) we had to sleep with the window opened. However,... More

We stayed at a 4-bedroom on the seventh floor. The location and the friendly staff were notably good. Wi-fi was ok despite warnings in a few reviews i read. Air-conditioning notably bad. The room was not clean enough (e.g. mold in bathroom). A few more ledges in the room would have been nice to have. But it does the job.

I loved this hostel! It definitely tied with my other favorite on my backpacking trip around Europe, the Wine Hostel in Porto, Portugal. This hostel was a little ways away from the metro (across the Danube and down a block or so), which tended to put me off in other places, but it actually landed the hostel in such a... More

Stayed in a 6 bed female hostel room, which was very spacious and modern. The cleaning service carts were in the hall everyday but we were always left with piles of blankets on the floor and no hand towels in the bathroom ughhhh!! Front desk personnel were rather icy & breakfast is way too expensive but luckily there is a... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
