What I liked most from this hotel: excellent service and friendly staff. What I did not like: while waiting to get checked in, I used the WC on the basement floor of the hotel. It looked like no one cleaned the bathroom for at least three or four days. The rooms were also hot and the windows were closed. Allowing... More

Do not book this hotel thinking it's a 4 star hotel, because it isn.t. What 4 star hotel doesnt;t have AC in a very hot summer?? You could barely sleep,I think I took 3 showers a day.The bathroom is not clean, they have mold on the shower window, and a looooooooooot of dust on the bathroom ventilator,I could not believe, and it was right... We slept with open windows as the air conditioner was quite poor. Cars drive very fast on the hotel street at night and make a lot of noise so I could not sleep well. There is wifi in the room. However, the connection is so poor that it is impossible to open any websites and I had to go different... More

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times. Lost count. I find the place fantastic. Rooms are very good. Breakfast is quite good. Location is convenient. Staff are friendly. However, the free wifi at times could be problematic especially if you are a business traveller like me. Overall a very good hotel.

Please note that I am a consultant that has to travel around the workd on business, essentially for a living. My company naturally pays for my hotels but most of the time I get to choose which hotel I want to stay at, but sometimes the company already has a deal with certain hotels in particular cities. My Vienna trip... More

We stayed four nights at this hotel. Breakfast was excellent . Rooms are comfortable and clean. The hotel is located 15 minutes by tram from the city center. The stuff is very friendly and they speak English. Would I return? Yes!

First of all, this is not a 4-star hotel and it`s a Spanish-friendly hotel, so the attitude is more relaxed. The room was OK and its biggest point was that we could oped the window (which is not so common nowadays). The bathroom was not cleaned every day, nor the garbage removed. The used toiletries weren`t replaced. We had to... More

As we booked another hotel for our 1 night stay, the review is more about breakfast buffet. The price was 8eur - which is perfect. In Vienna you can't find any place were you can fill up for that money. We ate 3 times. Scrambled eggs, toasts, croissant, fresh and cooked vegetables, granola, yogurt, porridge and fruits - that is... More

Good location, only five minutes away from the tram station. The price of the rooms is good for the quality you receive. The rooms are clean. Free wi-fi it's a plus, and the stuff is very frendly. In the hotel neighborhood you don'thave a lot to see, but you can find some cheap bars if you want to drink something... More

This is really only an adequate B&B for visiting Vienna. About 50 minute walk to "downtown" but a tram stop is outside the hotel. There is no bar or restaurant - the canteen style cafe for breakfast only is fine and the breakfast choice is good. Rooms are adequate and clean but nothing special. No international TV channels. Small bathrooms.... More

Staying in Ottakring

Neighborhood Profile
Ottakring
The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).
