We've just returned from 3 nights at Hotel Shermin and it was an excellent mid range boutique hotel. There are only 21 rooms but they are very well appointed with free WiFi, a powerful shower, and nice quality soaps. As mentioned elsewhere, the rooms are very quiet and you can purchase wine and spirits from the reception if you don't... More

First time for me to stay at one of these Pension type hotels. Small place that felt kinda like you were renting someones apartment. For the first few days I never even interacted or maybe even saw hotel staff but i didn't need to. They emailed me the building code and had my room key out waiting for me. Very... More

Dear TravelinHorn, Thanks a lot for your good review, we highly appreciate your kind and honest words about your stay in our hotel. It´s good to hear that your arrival and check-in weren´t a problem for you, even without a receptionist on duty. We would just like to point to the fact that, there is a large bottle of fresh... Just returned from a lovely 5 night stay at Saint Shermin. The staff was simply amazing - very helpful, friendly and courteous. We were offered a cappuccino and a glass of champagne upon arrival, though at that point we opted for the cappucino only since it was 8am in the morning after all. The rooms (we had booked two, the... More

The only thing that bothered a little was the noise from the other rooms. The hotel is located at a pretty quiet street, but it seems the internal acoustical isolation is not very good, since I kept listening to the conversations of the people in the room above. The only thing that bothered a little was the noise from the... More

my husband and I went to spent just one night in Vienna for our first journey in Europe and we very much enjoyed our night at St Shermin :) The room was very cozy and elegant, and all the rooms had names apart from the numbers... the staff was very kind and made us feel very welcomed. Unfortunately our stay... More

Excellent location for this bed and breakfast type hotel. Although breakfast is not included with this place, the location makes up for it. This place is within walking distance to the heart of Vienna. All major attractions are within two miles of the hotel. If you figure out the public transportation routes the city is at your fingertips. The place... More

Newish, great-looking, small hotel (or B&B) just a few minutes from Karlsplatz, which is a hub for the metro. You can also easily walk to the Opera and to Mariahilfer strasse. We can also recommend the food stalls at the Naschmarkt, as well as the restauraunt just outside the entrance to the hotel. Further south along Wiedner Hauptstrasse, there's a... More

Very good surprise indeed. Nicely located, close to inner city. Big rooms, king size beds, modern bathroom, very nice breakfast for an affordable price. Just to know that reception is not open all times but access to the hotel is granted via access code. Bed&Breakfast is located at 1st floor but the entrance does't give a good feeling (really a... We stayed in aparments and it is perfect, if there is more than 2 people travelling together. Very nice interior, big windows and big screen tv in every room. Location is good only 15 min by foot to city centre.

Dear Metod P. thank you for your review, nice to hear you felt comfortable at one of our apartements - we try to equip our apartements with all you possibly could need during your stay to make you as comfortable as possible. Please come back to Vienna and have a look at our other apartements. Sunny wishes Sissy More

Staying in Wieden

Neighborhood Profile
Wieden
The fourth district combines elegant tradition with contemporary style and relaxed living. More than a dozen town palaces and churches such as St. Charles Borromeo have added glamour to a neighborhood known for its traditional retail and crafts shops, taverns, cafés. Wieden is also home to Naschmarkt, Vienna’s largest street market. Many bohemian types have found their way to Wieden: meet them in trendy cafés and bars, shop alongside them for vintage items, enjoy Wien Museum’s and Kunsthalle’s modern temporary exhibitions, and hang out with the bees at Vienna’s most beautiful urban garden, Karlsgarten.
