Stayed in the hotel one night and got disappointed. The room was small and basic - no decent hairdryer, no minibar, no wardrobe. The view from the window was a small backyard and the neighbor's windows, which practically leaves no chance to have some daylight in the room and privacy at the same time... The breakfast is nothing special -... More

Stayed overnight for bed and breakfast on our way back fro Le Mans. Had room 109 - twin beds, spacious, neat and tidy with a good sized bathroom. Extremely comfortable beds. Evening meal was taken late in the evening - simple but adequate. Breakfast was a completely different experience. The choice was astonishing. You name it, they had it -... More

On my two pet subjects - carpet / properly cleanable floor full marks :-) , nice wooden floor - squidgy sticky liquid soap bottles / bar of soap :-((( horrible stick Unlike most Ibis the bathroom is not one piece plastic mold, but normal tiles etc The checkout was most unpleasant. I was overcharged and when I politely pointed it... More

Basic good quality hotel. Good value and well situated in Vienna. They will store luggage and have an on-site restaurant for breakfast. Ibis budget hotel is next door so possible to get confused. Close to the Danube river.

This hotel is good for the price we paid. Had the bare minimum facilities like hot water, towels, TV etc. However, the rooms were beyond small. We only went there to sleep because chilling in that room was a bit suffocating. Distance from City Centre is decently away however the metro connectivity is superb. Stephanplats was just one or two... More

Nice, modern place, bikers are welcome. Nothing very special, just what you expect from an ibis hotel anywhere. Good bike store / service next door. Public transport good, city center / Donaucenter for shopping are easy reachable.

Honestly, this definitely wasn't my favorite hotel. I was here on a school trip, and I was really impressed. The hotel looked very "posh" and "modern" from the outside, but that was definitely NOT the case on the outside... First of all, the elevators going into/up into the hotel were NOT accommodating to TEENAGERS with 12 DAYS worth of luggage.... More

Safe business area near subway. Both the hotel & entrance to subway have lifts for luggage & other wheeled devices. 3-5 stops to city center & 20 Euros for taxi from West Bahnhof Train Station. If traveling by train use newer HauptWien Bahnhof. The hotel was average Ibis quality & modern minimalist. Breakfast for 11 Euros each was just ok.... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
