Having stayed at this hotel from 18th of May to 24th May for Eurovision week, I want to say I had an excellent experience. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world but this hotel had the best staff. From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating. I would like... Convenient location with only a 15 minute walk to most attractions. Why pay top dollar in the international hotels that are everywhere in this beautiful city when you can stay in the Hotel City Central for a quarter of the price. The desk staff are VERY helpful and speak excellent English - they have a full range of tourist brochures... More

We stayed at the hotel for 4 days. Location is perfect, all historical buildings and monuments near by, 15 minutes walk. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Room was a bit small for family with 2 small kids and required re painting, but nothing major. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for 8 nights on business. Brought my family because after all it is Vienna. I booked a Superior Room with a baby crib and a pull out couch (slept 3 adults and an infant). Hotel is conveniently located, walking distance to downtown and close to two underground subway stations. Check in was super easy and the staff was... More

This is not a glamorous hotel but it is well priced and very comfortable. The breakfast is wide ranging and very good. The rooms are far from snug, clean and comfortable. The location, just a short walk from the touristic centre, is well situated for walking, U-Bahn and tram transport options. The young man, with dark hair and glasses at... More

we stayed 6 nights at this hotel, the positive was a good location, 10 min. walk to sites and shopping, hotel was very clean and an o k breakfast, the negative parts were, it was not a smoke free hotel, we smelled smoke in our bedroom coming from the hallway and elevator, made a complaint to the hotel manager with... Hotel and rooms are old, that´s true. We had a room with separated beds, and we noticed that it is not possible move beds together. So, it is better take the room with double bed, if you like so. Our room was quiet (to the backyard) and clean, but needed face lift. Anyway, we were not planned to spend time... More

The location is great, only 5 minutes away from Schwedenplatz. I had a standard room with a single bed. The room was always clean, comfortable and the price was good for the value. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, with lots of options and was included in room rate. The staff was amazing, very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend... More

We arrived in the hotel foyer and were greeted by the man on reception who was really helpful and friendly. The reception area is really light and airy and our rooms were perfect however I asked if it was possible to have a lighter room as ours was a bit gloomy. We were given a room with a street view... When we go away we look to stay at a Hotel that strikes a balance between location, quality and price (doesn't everyone, but it doesn't always work out haha), I would say that this Hotel definately achieves this. Arriving at the train station from Prague we jumped into a taxi and it cost 17 euro which equated to a 20... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
