During our four night stay at this hotel during the third week of October in 2015 we found it very pleasant with the staff we met being very congenial. Saying that the hotel is close to the U-bahn is an understatement! When getting off at the Neubaugasse station coming up at the Amerilinggasse exit literally brings you up through the... More

Hotel Kummer is very good choice for traveling either for leisure or business reason. It is located in the centre of Mariahilfer Strasse - famous shopping street. A subway is close to hotel. Near hotel is a possibility of parking in Garage. Hotel is in old building and has its own charm with tall ceilings and wonderful staircase. The staff... More

The location of the hotel is just outside the city center, but very easily reacable with the U-bahn (publuc transport). This was great, because we were there during New years and the ciry center is very crowded then. The hotel has a very classical ambiance in the style of Vienna in the old days. I really liked it. because it... More

A very nicely situated hotel only a few minutes walk from the Museum Quartier. Lovely big room with a vestibule and separate bathroom, with an actual bath!! The bar is well used but never over busy and we had a lovely lady called Suzy who made us very welcome even when it was almost midnight! One small but nice touch... More

We ordered the Kummer Hotel through Hotels.com and prepaid our vacation. The hotel is in a great spot right in the middle of the shopping vacinity of Mariahifer Strasse which is full of life, restaurants and shops. The breakfast was nice and so were the rooms. We arrived early and we were received with hospitality and given our rooms ahead... More

As we came out of the underground, the hotel was right in front of us so it couldn't have been closer. It's in a good central location so we were able to walk around Vienna during the weekend that we stayed there. The reception area was stunning. Our bedroom was spacious. The bathroom and toilet were separate and could do... More

Hotel was in a good postion on a main shopping street and a quick 10 minute walk into the main centre. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms large, showers hot and not a whisper of outside through the good soundproofed windows. breakfast was varied withfreshly fried eggs and omlettes offered when arriving in the breakfast room. A nice bar but... More

I booked the hotel after reading reviews, mainly because of its location to the first district. The single rooms are very small but comfortable, which was fine as I was out in the day. It is located in a pedestrian zone in a busy shopping district, and right on the u3 line to the city. You can also walk to... More

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
