The Kummer is a lovely old hotel. She is showing her age a bit, but it is still a nice place to stay. The rooms are roomy and the bathroom is adequate. The breakfast is very good. Location is excellent with Neubaugasse Metro station right outside of the hotel's front door. Service is polite and efficient. We enjoyed our stay... More

Great hotel. Directly across from subway station. Room was comfortable and clean. Wonderful breakfast every morning. Great location to all the sights, via subway. We enjoyed the restaurants and grocery stores in the neighbourhood.

Had a great stay at the Hotel Kummer in Vienna from Monday 27th April to Friday 1st May 2015. In a great location on the Mariahilfstrasse and right by the Neubaugasse U-Bahn Station. Beautifull hotel, we had room 110, a decen sized room with 2 large opening windows, no restrictors on them either so easy to lean right out of... More

This hotel is in a great location, on a pedestrianised shopping street, 10 seconds from the tube station. It is very clean and the room was very large and luxurious. The breakfast was good and varied although the breakfast room is too small for the number of guests so go early or late. The staff are friendly and helpful and... More

Stayed at the hotel for a week on business. The hotel is located on the main shopping street in easy walking distance of all the city centre attractions. A comfortable, clean 4* star hotel with good quality buffet breakfast and adequate evening meals. Very polite and helpful restaurant and bar staff. I would definitely stay at the hotel again if... This hotel is situated over an underground station, and only a 10 minute walk to Westbahn and the same time to Museum Quarter. The room is large with a high ceiling and with a lot of bathroom space. Also, the room is extremely quiet due to the great construction and soundproof windows. The common area is beautiful and the breakfast... More

We stayed at the Kummer Hotel for one week in September 2014 and found it to be an excellent hotel for our visit. The room was clean and serviced daily, the restaurant had a good selection for breakfast and on the one evening we used it for dinner we were not disappointed by the service and standard of the dishes.... Just returned from 3 nights at this hotel with my Mum. The hotel is very well situated with the underground station situated just across the walkway which makes getting around the city perfect. The underground connection with the CAT train from the airport is on the U3, which means no changes [great when you are pulling cases and want to... More

We stayed at the Kummer Hotel for 3 nights. The location is excellent: on the main commercial street, MarieHilfeStrasse, a step away from the underground station, and about ten minutes walk from the citys"s main attractions. Around the corner, the Ritter cafe, where we ate the best Appfelstrudel in the city. The hotel itself is located in an old building, impeccable kept,... More

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
