I chose this hotel as, in ole part of Vienna with plenty of shops and restaurants. Really liked the hotel. If I ever came back, would stay here .The food was good, rooms nice, staff , friendly. Check in area, beautiful, lots of marble. Nice choice on menu.

Situated at the very center of MariaHilfer st, this is a very nice hotel. The staff are helpful, the rooms are ok, the breakfast is very good. a good choice for a business trip as the hotel is located virtually at an U station. Careful of the wifi! It does not reach the higher floors.

Wonderful welcome and the room was ready for us even though we arrived at 11am, just expecting them to look after our bags for us. The room was small but wonderfully quiet away from the pedestrianised street at the front. Breakfast was excellent and gf bread available. Internet access was rubbish with 24 hour codes and poor signal in the... More

A comfortable quiet room, friendly staff, located in a pedestrian mall with plenty of shops and restaurants, underground station just near the front door, a couple of train stops from the international railway station, excellent buffet breakfast - everything we needed and liked in a hotel. And we liked being away from the tourist zone. We felt like locals here.... More

I find it hard to give this place a big score, despite the wonderful reception and the excellent location. The room was simply small and old fashioned. The lack of room service was a disappointment. The slow wifi and wired internet with a ridiculous set of codes was frankly a shock to the system! The whole place felt like somewhere... More

Spent 3 nights (2 rooms) in July. Super location (middle of shopping street .... no cars) + U-bahn 30m from hotel door. No noise at night. Good nights sleep. VERY friendly and helpful staff (thanks for all your help) A bit old'ish style in rooms and small bathrooms, but hey it's really charming. Very good price / performace. Will defiitively... More

We stayed on the first floor up the grand staircase. The room was spacious with a traditional Germanic Toilet which takes a bit of getting used to, but they're everywhere in Vienna. The staff were courteous, friendly and very helpful. However I found the Viennese the same all over the city. The breakfast was diverse and it quite fun seeing... More

Nice, bit on the rugged old style hotel in a great location. Its surrounded by shops and metro is just around the corner. Breakfast was doable, all in all maybe a little update would be in order but you know, its good value for money. Oh, the hotel restaurant earned this review an extra star, excellent service +++

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
