This hotel is situated over an underground station, and only a 10 minute walk to Westbahn and the same time to Museum Quarter. The room is large with a high ceiling and with a lot of bathroom space. Also, the room is extremely quiet due to the great construction and soundproof windows. The common area is beautiful and the breakfast... More

We stayed at the Kummer Hotel for one week in September 2014 and found it to be an excellent hotel for our visit. The room was clean and serviced daily, the restaurant had a good selection for breakfast and on the one evening we used it for dinner we were not disappointed by the service and standard of the dishes.... Just returned from 3 nights at this hotel with my Mum. The hotel is very well situated with the underground station situated just across the walkway which makes getting around the city perfect. The underground connection with the CAT train from the airport is on the U3, which means no changes [great when you are pulling cases and want to... More

We stayed at the Kummer Hotel for 3 nights. The location is excellent: on the main commercial street, MarieHilfeStrasse, a step away from the underground station, and about ten minutes walk from the citys"s main attractions. Around the corner, the Ritter cafe, where we ate the best Appfelstrudel in the city. The hotel itself is located in an old building, impeccable kept,... More

Staff great; breakfast choice excellent; situation immediately opposite the underground station exit. Perfect for a city break. Tips for Vienna:- Buy a multiday transport pass (u/ground, tram, bus) - bargain!! Pedal Power cycles are very friendly if you wish to explore.

Very nice hotel with superb spacious rooms (if you book a superior room). The furniture is classic and rooms are elegant. A rich breakfast buffet is included in the room price. The location is super especially after the changes making Mariahilferstrasse a walking street. It is directly next to U3 Neubaugasse station with easy access to everywhere in Vienna. The... More

While this hotel may be well located, it is quite old and needs a bit of a refurbishment. It is very clean however and this couldn't be faulted. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast average. Free wifi. That's probably all there is to say - sorry.

Always looking for great location when traveling; hotel must be easy to find in a foreign land, easy to access by train (coming from airport), and must have easy access to sites in destination city. Hotel Kummer fit the bill in every way. Shopping district; subway and bus access; city center; comfortable; wonderful staff; great European breakfast room (as expected... More

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
