The Hotel Kummer is well located for metro stations, shops & restaurants, & is less than a 10 minute easy stroll from the The Museum Quarter & the start of central Vienna. The hotel staff are excellent & very well informed & can answer almost any question you have. Our room ( on the third floor ) was comfortable, cleaned... More

I really liked this hotel ! Very comfortable and spacious rooms! The breakfast is very good with a wide variety of choice ! The location is ideal on the best street in Vienna, Mariahilferstraße; in close proximity to everything. Shopping, restaurants and touristic sites are all within short walking distance.

Hotel Kummer is a hotel on a very good central location in the large shopping street Mariahilfe. In front of the hotel you can take the metro easily to all destinations. And a lot of highlights are reachable on foot. The hotel has wonderfully decorated typically Vienna style rooms. Good matrasses. Fine bathroom. Good housekeeping staff. Receptionists are very helpfull!... More

Situated at the very center of MariaHilfer st, this is a very nice hotel. The staff are helpful, the rooms are ok, the breakfast is very good. a good choice for a business trip as the hotel is located virtually at an U station. Careful of the wifi! It does not reach the higher floors.

Wonderful welcome and the room was ready for us even though we arrived at 11am, just expecting them to look after our bags for us. The room was small but wonderfully quiet away from the pedestrianised street at the front. Breakfast was excellent and gf bread available. Internet access was rubbish with 24 hour codes and poor signal in the... More

A comfortable quiet room, friendly staff, located in a pedestrian mall with plenty of shops and restaurants, underground station just near the front door, a couple of train stops from the international railway station, excellent buffet breakfast - everything we needed and liked in a hotel. And we liked being away from the tourist zone. We felt like locals here.... More

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
