To be clear, this is two hotels, across the street from one another. One of them is quite old and shabby, with no facilities. The other is apparently nicer, although I wasn't assigned there - I was assigned to the old, shabby building. Ancient elevator, dated rooms, overpriced considering the quality. The main building might be worth 70-80 euros a... More

A great hotel. Just off the main drag, but an easy walk to the city centre, or 200m from the U. An airy, spacious, clean room opening on to the central atrium - we sat out and read on a couple of hot evenings. A decent sized bathroom. Given the very reasonable price I had had my doubts, but I... More

This hotel is a tale of two sides. The main hotel, where the reception is, is nice and modern. The majority of the rooms are over here but there are rooms over the other side of the road in a different building which is very run down, dark and dingy. The first night we were stuck in the old part... More

It's clean, feels like newly built. AC works very well. Staff are friendly. Billa is just cross the street. Close to two subway stops (Taborstrasse or Nestroy on U1). I will certainly stay there again!

It can be a bit tricky to find from the subway but it's actually walking distance. When we checked in we had trouble finding our floor. Take a wrong turn and well you get a bit lost. Other than that, the room was clean and spacious. It was one of the only hotels we stayed in (in Europe) that had... More

The location is excellent (between two main subway stops), the facility is attractive and clean, the personnel friendly and helpful, and the price is reasonable. The breakfast was more than enough, though a bit expensive for those of us who only want a bowl of granola, some juice, and a cup of coffee.

upon check-in, we were offered an upgrade to a suite for a fair price. we took a look at both rooms and decided we preferred the room we'd booked. it was a lovely room on the top floor. short people, such as myself, aren't able to see the view out the windows, but since it's only neighboring buildings, it was... Three couples spent four nights here in mid Feb 2015. Hotel is approximately a twenty minute walk from the main city square. It is set in a quiet side street. Easy walk to centre but if weather poor may be not be such a good choice. Hotel is modern and all rooms well equipped and large with good sized bathroom.... More

Location -great for Prater! Very easy to get to all the Viennese central places, right by Taborstrasse U-Bahn (underground). The hotel beds are rather hard but comfortable. Really spacious room for a standard level. Lovely little spa -extremely quiet!!! Perfect short stay. Great service: I've met only three different receptionists each day all Of them very nice, polite, well spoken... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
