Very friendly and helpful staff. Wrote routes down and instructions for metro. I travel frequently with work and one of the best breakfasts I've had. Very convenient location would not look to stay anywhere else should we return to Vienna had a great time.

We stayed at Hotel de France for four nights. The entrance looks quite impressive and elegant, however once you are past it, everything is very disappointing. Our room was very small and despite it being a non smoke room it smelt of old smoke, of old carpet, etc. The double bed was quite small, the TV was a very old... More

Very good hotel with good staff. A young man called Marcel was on desk duty when we arrived. He was so keen to help us with our stay. He gave us great info about the sights and metro system which we used while there. The breakfast was fantastic with a good range of hot and cold food and was in... More

Location very good! Right outside underground / tram lines. Staff fairly friendly however the hotel is definately overpriced, rooms outdated, breakfast always very busy and you sometimes have to wait to get a table. Overall I've had better but I've also had worse. If there price was €30-50 per night cheaper my review would be slightly more positive. Would say... More

First of all, it was happy and pleasant 7 days trip, but also have a really ambivalent feeling about the hotel. From the one hand, really good location, clean, big enough room and very welcomed staff that try to help us in any situation, from the other - fitness club on the six floor that shook the ceiling over our... This was a most disappointing stay. Looking forward to a 5 star experience, it fell far short. Got a very reasonable price through Booking.com , but unfortunately the old adage rang true here. you get what you pay for. I don't understand how Booking.com rate this a 5 star property. The Hotel has poor facilities, and the wifi signal could... More

I stayed in this hotel with my husband in October and we absolutely loved it. The staff was very friendly from the front desk to the night time bartender. Our room was comfortable and clean, a bit small but that is to be expected in a center city hotel. My only complaint was that we could not adjust the thermostat... More

I came to Vienna for Christmas and have lived in this hotel 5 of happy days. I liked everything here. The hotel has a very convenient location in the center of the city, excellent service, beautiful rooms, very good restaurant and bar. All the staff are very professional, friendly and attentive. In my next visit to Vienna I will book... More

I had previously stayed here in 1993 and it was every bit as lovely as I remembered it. It has been well maintained in the old, traditional Viennese style. The staff are extremely cordial and the location is the best.

We stayed here during December as it was quite near two Christmas Markets. The rooms were large and quiet, the breakfast choices were vast. The front desk was very helpful, and they have their own car to take you to the airport, etc. Everyone was very helpful. The restaurant was pretty pricy though.

Staying in Serviten Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
Serviten Quarter
The Serviten Quarter is an inner city neighborhood with many private charms. Popular with French and American expats, Sigmund Freud’s neighborhood boasts his former practice and apartments, now turned into a museum. Stunning Liechtenstein Garden Palace houses the private art collection of Prince Adam of Liechtenstein. Romantic Strudlhofstiege close to the palace is a fantastic photo spot. With their small independent shops and eateries, the main streets of Liechtensteinstrasse, Porzellangasse and Servitengasse reveal much of this area’s character. Peek into baroque Serviten Church, with its richly decorated dome and walls. At the Old Jewish cemetery in Seegasse you can see one of the most precious cemeteries in Europe with tombstones almost 500 years old.
