My wife, infant son, and I stayed here for a full week, attending a conference at the University just across the street. The hotel facilities and the staff were excellent. The staff, including the maids, were really kind and helpful with our baby, making sure we had a crib, providing additional towels upon request, really reaching out to help. The... More

Although the hotel has a good location. 10-15min walk from stefan cathedral, and near to metro station... Although the room was big... Although the staff was very helpful and kind... The experience was bad ! We had to change three rooms while we checked in, the first was smelling bad, the second was small and the wc was since 70s...... More

We just returned from 4 nights at the Hotel de France. The hotel answered all are pre-arrival requests of giving us a quiet room (530), emptying the minibar and sending a pickup car for us. The public areas are large and pleasant, and welcoming. The room itself was very spacious, lots of hanging and drawer space. There was a comfortable desk... More

While not right in the center of things, it is an easy 15 minute walk from everything or the underground station is just outside the hotel. The hotel itself is beautifully kept and the rooms are updated with all amenities. The breakfast has every imaginable thing you could want displayed beautifully and all very good. The staff is all friendly... More

Old decor rooms smell of smoke mitigation chemicals. beds are old. Front desk staff is cold and un friendly , I am not sure they wanted us here and gave us the worst rooms in the place until we complained (even though the place seems empty). Not impressed I would not stay here again. If you are expecting elegance look... More

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The location is very good and close to the main tourist area. On checking in we were upgraded to a suite so can't comment on the standard rooms. The suite was enormous and very grand, with a large bathroom and dressing room. The rooms were very clean. The breakfast selection was very... More

Great service and a very classy hotel. The Hotel de France is very handing the best Vienna has to offer with classic buildings down the road and shopping centre not far away. The breakfast was the best we have had for a long time so much variety and quality. The rooms are spacious and well laid out, the architecture is... More

You can tell that in its day this hotel was quite grand. However there are many reminders of the age of the hotel, and these minor frustrations do detract from ones overall experience. Our experience at the front reception was one of cold formality. Our room, whilst quite large, had dated decor. Frustrations for us included access to the rooms,... More

Beautiful hotel, great public areas. Ok breakfast, but no five star. The rooms clean and spacious. Walking distance to tourist attractions. Good parking service and very helpful staff. Would recommend it.

The de France has welcome guests for a long time. There is a variety of rooms from small and old fashioned to grand and modern. Some rooms are a long distance from the reception area as the hotel extends over several buildings. The multinational staff is well trained and eager to please. Located adjacent to a public transportation hub makes... More
