Hotel ideal location. Staff were very helpful and gave us lots of advice of what to do and see while we were in Vienna. The only item that was not ideal was that I had to park my car in a public car park 2 streets away. The hotel arranged a 50% discount and had excellent maps at hand. I... More

Modern hotel with an excellent restaurant and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable but the air conditioning did not work effectively - baby breathe level even on full power. Manager's advise was to keep the window open - which not only defeats the concept of air conditioning but on a Friday and Saturday night in Vienna keeps you awake with the... More

Hotels in big cities are usually expensive. Hotels in big and very attractive cities are usually very expensive. Vienna and the Mercure Wien Zentrum hotel are no exception to this rule. In April 2015 I paid € 230 per night, this is by any measure a huge amount of money. Then it just does not feel good when you are... More

The rooms are clean, modern and comfortable and the hotel staff is very nice. The best part is that the hotel is near all of the Inner City action at Stephansplatz while being far enough out to be a little quieter. It is also only one block from the Schwedenplatz U Bahn station, so it is easy to get just... More

I booked this hotel for the location - right in the centre of Vienna - and I wasn't disappointed. During our 2 night stay we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go within 5-10 minutes. Restaurants, cafes, shops, everything really are right on the door step. The room itself was a "privilege" room, I'm not too sure what... More

Right in the heart of Vienna, Mercury Wien Zentrum is an excellent choice for an enjoyable stay in Vienna. It is surrounded by everything you need; main shopping street, the major touristic attractions are a few minutes away, a metro station is just around the corner while grocery stores and traditional coffee shops will keep you happy. It wasn't my... More

The hotel is ideally situated close to Vienna's tourist and shopping districts and very easily accessed by public transport. The room itself and hotel facilities were all also excellent and the staff were very helpful.

Spent there three nights on March. Location of the hotel is excellent: quiet surroundings on a little sidealley and U-Bahn station and shopping streets are on walking distance. Staff is very friendly and everything went very smoothly. Extrapoints for free maps and brochures for sightseeing tours, happenings etc. we got when checked in.

I've stayed here several times, always nice. The breakfast is a bit on the pricey side (18 euros for one day), but there is a Starbucks and a nice grocery store (SPAR) closeby if you want alternatives.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
