Can't fault the Astoria for location, it's right on the main shopping strip. The staff are great - very friendly and helpful. Our room was huge and very clean. Nice bathroom too but the shower leaked a bit, didn't bother me so much but the floor ended up a swimming pool. Breakfast is really good, loads of choice. Only slight... More

The hotel is in a great location for sightseeing. We were able to enjoy the cafes, visit museums and palaces, and if you're interested in gambling, there is a casino directly across the street. A cautionary note for those reserving in the warmer months: there is no air conditioning and the bedding is heavy. This meant sleeping with no cover... More

Hotel is located next Opera house and Metro. The down side is that there is no air conditioning which is a problem in the summer, although the rooms are provided with a fan. Breakfast was quite adequate with some tasty dishes. I found the staff very nice and helpful so overall my experience was fine.

Right in the middle of the main area, on corner of main mall and a few hundred metres to the Albertina. Lovely 'old' type of hotel with modern amenities. Had a standard room that was very large room. Not sure if this is same for all or we were just lucky.

The hotel has a certain charm if you like old which was our case. But the furnitures were really old and the rooms weren't renovated since a long time ( at least ours). I think you can find better for the same price. The location is very good but still we won't go there again...

Stayed in a mezzanine floor room that directly overlooked the pedestrian mall. The noise from this area at night is unbelievable even with the windows firmly shut. All night you are woken by drunken behaviour, then at 6am the delivery & garbage trucks start driving through the area. During my stay the temperature hit 32 deg and these rooms aren't... More

This is an old but charming hotel right in the center of Vienna. We stayed in a ’classic room’ which is the basic level but it was very nice, roomy and clean. If the bathroom is important in your choice of a place to stay, you will not be dissapointed with this hotel. The bathroom we had was magnificent, very... More

Perfectly located hotel in the historic part of Vienna, very authentic with old lift ( one was broken so most the time I had to climb the 5 floors with the stairs ). Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
