My stay at Hotel Astoria came at the end of a central Europe tour and I had expected it to be one of the nicest hotels I stayed at to end my trip. Relieved to be in a room after a day of travel, I found that noise came in from under the door, there was "shower mousse" in place... more

Excellent location, friendly staff, plenty of amenities, superb breakfast and decent shower/bath - but let down by this being the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. OK, city centres are not quiet places, but the old-fashioned French windows leading onto the balcony do nothing to alleviate the noise from dump trucks, delivery trucks, ever-ongoing city reconstruction and a refrigerated... more

Fabulous Hotel in a great location. Friendly staff, big room. Recently renovated. Cannot fault or recommend highly enough and I travel for a living and spend half my life in 5 star hotels. more

The hotel is in a good location near Opera House, Sacher Hotel, & Kartnerstrasse (shopping street). We stayed on the executive floor which was an 80 Euro per night extra charge to get air- conditioning. Standard rooms are NOT air-conditioned. The room was very spacious, newly remodeled, small balcony over Kartnerstrasse, very clean. Spectacular breakfast buffet, but not included in... more

we stayed there for 7 nights for a school competition. the room was cozy and spacious. we had a triple room, shared by 3 girls. my friends (3 guys) stayed at the room next to us and it was smaller. perhaps the hotel wanted to give the girls a bigger room with bigger toilet (2 sinks). house keeping was excellent.... more

Centrally located hotel, good and attentive staff, rooms comfortable and spacious. Buffet breakfast sumptious. Only disadvantages are : in hot weather, as the hotel does not have air conditioning, but fans are available. externally facing rooms can be noisy due to late night revellers and early morning bin collections, but you are in a city centre. On balance, a quality... more

We spent four nights at this perfectly located and recommended hotel. Disappointed? Most certainly. The rooms are dated - that's OK and indeed part of the hotel's perceived charm, and they are large and clean but they really lacked any of the usual comforts for this grade of hotel - parsimonious portions of toiletries, no tea, coffee making facilities:- tea... more

My partner and I were in Vienna and chanced upon this hotel .Even though the male trainee staff was helpful with our booking, the duty manager was not very friendly. This gave a very bad first impression. HOwever, we put up with it as this hotel has a good location and we were tired of walking around looking for hotels.... more

Perfectly located in the heart of the city, amid the shopping streets and a stone's throw from the Opera. Charming staff: English widely spoken. Luxurious and recently refurbished enormous rooms with great bathrooms. I can speak in the plural as we went with friends whose experience equalled ours. We were on the first floor (actually two floors up) above a... more

We wanted to spend some days in Vienna staying in a central hotel with atmosphere and being in a few minutes' walking distance to most of the monuments and the pedestrians' area as well. Hotel Astoria was proved to be a very successful choice because of its traditional style combined with cleanness, nice view, powerful breakfast and helpful staff. However,... more
