SCHWEIZERHOF Hotel Vienna VIENNESE CLASSIC STYLE with MODERN BATHS I was born in Vienna and my wife speaks German fluently .We visit family and friends there every year. For many years our favourite Vienna hotel has always been the Schweizerhof . Not only because of its Central location about 2 minutes walk from St Stefans Cathedral .The style is classical... more

we stayed there for 3 nights. The overall impression that we have about this property is Okay, but there were some things that we did not like. On one hand, the location of the Hotel is very good. Steps away from the St Stephan's cathedral. The personnel very kind, although some guidance we got from them was not up to... more

We stayed at the Schweizerhof in late August, 2008. We picked the hotel based on the Rick Steves guidebook. The hotel met our expectations. The room was small, but adequate. The hotel is clean and well maintained. The front desk staff speaks English and French as well as German, and were always courteous and helpful. The central location is extraordinary... more

Large bathroom for European standards - we even had a tub. Room was very clean. Breakfast was excellent - breads, cheeses, fruits, cereal, champagne, cold cuts, and more. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Front desk clerks spoke English. Excellent location near Stephansplatz. Price acceptable for location and quality. more

This hotel was a little difficult to find, the street signs are not easily displayed in Vienna, but when discovered this hotel was a fabulous location. Right inside the inner circle, 1 minute walk from Stephenplaz, 2 min walk to all the sights, restaurants etc. Mostly a pedestrian area. We were a little concerned with all the clubs nearby, but... more

I, too, followed Rick Steves' advice in booking this hotel for 3 nights at the end of November 2007. All I can say is that Rick needs to fire whomever reviewed this place. The location is great (just off the main square and close to the metro), and the lobby is deceptively nice, but that's where the good ends. I... more

I thought I'd better write a review as we stayed in this hotel based on your reviews! Well, we were expecting a small bathroom from previous reviews - it was small but not as small as I expected - it was just fine. It had a good strong shower. The room was a fair size and tidied / cleaned every... more

My wife and I went off of Rick Steves guidelines, he has never failed us before......we have to say the hotel was a major disappointment. Maybe it was because we stayed in Salzburg prior to coming to Vienna where we had a nice room. The room itself needed some upgrades and the bathroom, oh my, I read someone else saying... more

My second time at Schweizerhof was as good as the first time i was there last March 2007. The hotel is very centrally located, just one minute far from the Dome and Hofburg. The service is good, breakfast is very good and rooms are confortable. Note that bathrooms are very very small and rooms are not soundproofed. Overall an excellent... more

I stayed at Hotel Schweizerhof from October 29-November 1, 2007. The hotel is well-located in the Old City -- just a block away from shopping on Kartnerstrasse and close to Stephansdom and other major attractions and sites. It even boasts proximity to the kitschy Der Anker Clock, Vienna's own (much less impressive) version of Prague's Astronomical Clock. My room was... more
