We stayed here three nights in midweek. Harry, Franz and Kalil were friendly and very helpful. They arranged for rides to and from airport. They gave us directions for places we wanted to go. Breakfasts were included. They served a large variety of different foods each day including fruit, vegetables, cold meats, cheese, bread and more. Our room was quiet and... More

My friends and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in mid-April, 2015. The location is great, the room price is a little bit high but still acceptable. Because there is a disco or pub in opposite, you will hear very loud noise before 10:00pm. This is not a big problem if you close the window and go to... More

Lobby was clean, felt safe and relaxing. Since we had 10,5 h to before the flight they offered us, like every guest, to leave our bags and use the lobby for relaxation, bathroom and charging our cells. Great hospitality, happy staf, great service and ok breakfast. Damn good coffee! Unfortunatly the breakfastcrew forgot to clean the vegetables and serve them... More

if you go left, you'll be in the danube river. go right, you'll find yourself in stephenplatz. service is good and the food is great. there's nothing much to see when you stepped outside the hotel but a good 4-min walk and you're off to see what vienna has to offer.

As part of a tour group, my wife and I stayed three nights at Hotel Schweizerhof. Our interaction with the staff, though minimal, was pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable, and breakfasts were quite good. It is a two or three block walk to the busier portion of the city. This is good because it kept the traffic and... More

Not the most impressive of hotels, but the location is right in the middle of everything! Statues, shopping, restaurants, cathedrals, and palaces all within walking distance, and when you're leaving Vienna, the bus express to Wien International is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Perfect location. As far as the rest of it goes: Rooms: Right out of the... More

The room is spacious and comfortable. Small bathroom but a convenient shower. Very good location. The breakfast was very good. The free wifi worked good. It the second time for me to stay in this hotel and I'll return.

Location, location, location. Innere Stadt. Near the art and cultural institutions and one major public transport stop. Plenty of cafes and restaurants. Highly recommend the Salzamt restaurant nearby for its Central European/German menu. See its reviews of this site. Stayed there three separate nights on one trip. Each room was substantially different than the others. One was very cramped, barely... More

My review. Bad hotel, did not respond to the order of 3-4. The windows were on the ceiling, a toilet so small that there is not fit to sit on. Poor location - not any kind of views, and on the side. Ikkunant katossa, wc - pieni, huono sijainti - ei minkäälaista näköalaa.

What makes this hotel so interesting is its old charm and being in the inner city minutes from the historic city center (St. Stephen's Cathedral). The hotel still uses the old fashion keys and you have to turn them in to the front desk before you go out. The furniture and deco take you back a few decades and puzzling... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
