This is one of the European chain hotels, a small boutique type hotel. The staff is very friendly and speak English. Layout of the hotel is a little weird involving 2 elevators to reach all the floors because the hotel actually occupies 2 buildings. Rooms are small but clean, our shower was ridiculous. It's one of those curved things tucked... More

So as is my want I like to write a review whilst travelling back and everything is relatively fresh in my mind. What I need to be clear on is separating the hotel and the customer service experience. I will start on a positive note and say the hotel itself is actually ok and although I have no comparison to... More

Stayed for 2 nites in June. Hotel is clean and well located. Only 10 mins walk to the U Bahn. However, most of the attractions such as Museum Quartier, St Stephen, Belvedere and shopping streets are within 20 to 30 mins walk from the hotel. Naschmarket is just a short walk from the hotel. Staff in hotel is friendly.

Arriving at a hotel on business is very different to a holiday trip. If you are looking for my impressions of how boutique, romantic or otherwise floral the hotel was, look elsewhere. The receptionist was friendly, the bed was comfortable, the air conditioning wheezed a little but it worked, and the shower in the morning was easy to use and... More

I stayed there for 3 nights... I chose it because i stayed in it before...it is characterized by its perfect location... Near to the market and metro (karlsplatz station)...it is a cozy hotel which we liked...and there was a receptionist who was very helpful and very welcoming to us, our room was very comfortable except with the air conditioner that... We chose this hotel as part of a BA package. In spite of being close to a major street junction, our room (122) overlooking the Secession itself was not noisy. It was comfortable and spacious, although the shower room was smallish. There was a small galley / kitchen between the shower room and the bedroom, complete with hotplate, sink, kettle,... More

This hotel has a wonderful atmosphere due to the design and decoration in the rooms and breakfast room. But it is especially attractive for families for several reasons. The family apartment we got was very spacious and comfortable. It is such a relief to have a kitchen but having all the convenience and services of a hotel (well, a microwave... More

For the third April in a row, friends and I spent a week in Vienna at the Mercure-Secession. The hotel is clean and well appointed, the staff is awesomely helpful and friendly, the breakfast is to die for, and the location could not be better. There are a variety of great restaurants nearby, most of the key sights in Vienna... More

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
