It might be “budget” but at the end of the day all you need is a quiet room with a comfy bed and a clean bathroom. And you get just that. Plus helpful English speaking staff. Plus a quick check-in and check-out through a mobile app if you’re an Accor fun like me. Plus free wi-fi. Plus eat&play Prater within... More

As any other Ibis budget it is all about the basics. It is clean, comfy and very well located, although has no free parking around. (We left the car in the other side of the bridge, at district 22 where it is free. 14 Euros for 24 hours it is not a horrible thing, but between have it for free... More

Stayed here a few times over the years. Perfectly clean and well run hotel that ticks all the budget boxes. Ideally located for for visiting Vienna, it's my first choice place to stay. If you don't want to pay for breakfast at the hotel there is a bakery two minutes walk towards Praterstern U-Bahn station or various eateries within the... More

Our room was very clean, beds were comfy, was super quiet which was a huge plus as we had been hostelling for a week! The reception staff were also super helpful and pointed out to me transportation in Vienna and good walks around the city. There were quite a few downside though: The internet is terrible. It is 'free', but... More

The hotel was very basic buy the rooms were clean and comfortable. If you go by car, it is possible to park inside the parking garage of the hotel for a discounted fee of 14€ per day for hotel guests. In order to pay the discounted fee, you have to let your parking ticket which you receive when driving in... More

The Ibis Budget Wien Messe is just a couple blocks from Praterstern station, where the S7 train from the airport stops. That station is bum central, but the bums congregate on the far, i.e. downtown, side of the station, on the main Praterstern square. The Prater amusement park is just a few blocks from the hotel. At night, there will... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
