The is an elegant older hotel hitch has all the amenities-concierge service, gym, restaurant and elegant bar. The staff is wonderful and we had the opportunity to meet the very experienced and charming General Manager. The renovated rooms are very nice and I would advise asking for one of those. The location can't be beat-across from the opera house and... More

We made another return visit to the Bristol - this time for a week as part of a small group tour. While it has been our favourite Vienna base, we didn’t enjoy it as much this time. The hotel is superbly located at the intersection of the Kärntner Strasse and the Ringstrasse, opposite the Staatsoper. It’s within walking distance of... More

The Bristol is one of the oldes Grand Hotels in Vienna. Really well situated. You can walk to the Staatsoper (Opera House) and Cafe Sacher is just around the corner, The Stephansdom is a short 10 minutes walk. Plus: super location, some rooms are newly renovated and are really nice. traditional elegance, impeccable concierge service. This requires a bit of... More

There are two great historic hotels on the plaza next to the Vienna Opera House, the Sacher Wien and the Bristol. I chose the Bristol because of a great offer and reasonable pricing. We stayed the week and got one night free and an upgrade to a larger room. I would have loved a room that looked over the Opera... More

This hotel is the perfect location for Vienna. Smack bang in the middle of the city near the shops, restaurants and all the historic sites and things to see. The rooms are a decent size, old fashioned looking but all in good condition. The place is spotless and the staff are incredibly helpful. I wouldn't call it a 5 star... More

The Bristol is an elegant old hotel with elegant, well-appointed rooms. For our second stay here in as many years, we used our Starwood points to book a room on the top floor for four nights and got the fifth night free. Last time, we could stand on our small balcony and watch the performances inside the lovely Opera House... More

Beautiful luxury hotel in a historic building with traditional furnishings and style. In a fantastic location on the Ringstrasse, right next to the Opera House and walking distance to other sites and the subway. Service is very nice, and concierge is helpful in providing any recommendations you'd like in Vienna. Great hotel!

We were in an Opera Suite for our two night stay at the Bristol. The view of the staatsoper was only surpassed by the room itself. My flight landed in the early morning in Vienna and my room wasn't quite ready upon arrival, so I ventured out and explored the neighborhood after receiving some very good recommendations from concierge on... If you are visiting Vienna and are looking for an "authentic old world" hotel this is it! The location next to the Opera house makes it convenient and close to many other attractions within walking distance. It is also about 100 steps away from the subway, so getting there by train/subway is very easy. If you drive your own car... More

We stayed at the hotel for a weekend. The hotel is ideal for people who like a romantic, 19th century spirit. Great facilities, and amazing location (overlooks the Opera house). I recommend ordering a room that looks over the Opera. Amazing.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
