From the minute we entered the Bristol, we experienced superb service in an historical setting. This hotel is in keeping with its original grandeur. Such as the oldest elevator in (Europe? Vienna?) anyway it's old. And unusual, and beautiful. I'm a stair climber myself but I rode the elevator. A lot. Since this is an older hotel I thought there... More

We are on our third city with one more to go. The staff at the Bristol has gone out of their way to make us feel welcome. The breakfast is top notch and they have made reservations with great efficiency. i would recommend this hotel without reservation!

Bristol offers a wide range of rooms/suits. I stayed in a standard double. Nice and affordable. I am sure you could spend a lot of Money from morning till night in Bristol, but Vienna as a city offers much more...

We love this property. The people, the location, the rooms, the bar, everything. This was out 3rd stay at this property. On out last trip to Vienna we stayed at a different property and although it was nice, we really missed The Hotel Bristol. We were promptly upgraded and we received a beautiful room overlooking the Opera House, on a... More

Excellent service! We loved the staff at the reception desk, concierge, restaurant and bar. The concierge always had interesting suggestions and were very helpful. Our room was a little tired and housekeeping wasn't what I expected (mostly forgetting things). Other than this it was a perfect stay.

If you want to walk everywhere in downtown Vienna, stay here. The Opera is across the street, go one block and you're on the pedestrian Kaerntnerstrasse where the stores, the cafes and the hanging-out at night all are. It's a hotel from the Gilded Age, not as grand as the Grand Hotel Wien or Palais Coburg but well-run and comfortable.... More

Stayed couple of days for business and leisure: Perfect location midst in Old Town: Staatsoper just opposite and all major attractions, museums, etc. in walking distance. My favorite Gym of all Hotels in Europe is on the 5th floor with a view to Staatsoper and Kaertner Ring, how phantastic compared to all those gyms in other Hotels located on floors... More

Stayed for three nights on a short holiday. Although the building is an old construction (as the main sites of this historic coty) it is extremely well maintained and rooms have been updated to keep the best of the past plus the necessary upgrades of modern facilities. Our room was spacious and despite its orientation (main street) it was sufficiently... More

This hotel located just across from the Opera House, 4 blocks from St Stephens, and 3 blocks from the Hapsburg Palace is perfectly located. There is shopping nearby and many restaurants. The staff is helpful. There are many historic buildings nearby. The room decor is quite fancy, makes you feel old world.

My husband and I have stayed in this hotel previously, and very much enjoyed it. Sometimes a return visit is not quite as good, the property might be less well cared for, the service less warm. Our experience in 2015 was even better than previously. The Bristol is an exquisite looking hotel and the rooms are beautiful- eighteenth century splendour... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
