We were the fortunate travelers who had to relocate from the Ritz Carlton to the Hotel Imperial during a Tauck River Cruise. One word to describe this hotel: fabulous. It is old-world luxury. Our room was beautiful, and we had a great view. It is in a wonderful location, just quick walks from everything you wish to see in Vienna.... More

Wonderful stay in Vienna thanks to Hotel Imperial. Upgraded to a suite and made the experience even better. Beautiful hotel and excellent staff. Hotel was busy due to secretary Kerry in town. But the staff made us feel welcomed and the extra crowds was not a problem

We were upgraded to a suite and it is lovely, very spacious. The extra WC is a nice feature. Everything is very elegant and old school charming. Staff is friendly and location is excellent. Had wine in the bar, which was very relaxing. My husband was disappointed that we missed John Kerry.

We came in from the St Regis in Rome "not so good".........But we loved this place and it's location. We where given a two room upgrade and the service in this hotel was fantastic. We spent six nights in vienna and enjoyed every day in the Hotel Imperial and the city! This hotel and the staff make the St Regis... More

Very nice hotel. Old school European. Staff was very helpful, especially the concierge. Only issue was the air conditioning wasn't very good and the room was too warm no matter what we did. Breakfast resto very good as well. John Kerry and his staff were there at the time. Many secret service and police everywhere. Was a little uncomfortable at... More

I stayed in this hotel with my mum, as this was a birthday surprise for her. The reception staff (guy wih glasses and slimy haircut) who checked us in was extremely arrogant and unhelpful. The room was beautiul and clean. When we went to have a breakfast in the morning, we were expecting to be seated - it is very... More

Dear "Oliver W", first and foremost, please accept my sincere apologies for the occured inconveniences during this important stay in May. It was very dissappointing for me to learn through your online review on Trip Advisor, that the perceived attitude of some of our staff members did not meet your expectations. Please rest assured that your valued feedback has already... More

Classic décor in a fabulous location with fantastic service and we were upgraded to a suite which was lovely. Of course not to be missed is the world famous Imperial Torte which comes in a few different versions.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
