One of my favorite SPG properties - booked this hotel because it was on T+L World's Best Hotels List and was really glad I did. We stayed here for a weekend getaway and it made our weekend. The rooms are old world grandeur, decor reminiscent of imperial apartment tours. The Lobby is fabulous and the style marries old world and... More

We had two lovely visits to the beautiful bar at the Imperial Hotel in Vienna. Thanks to the wonderful Herr Brunner we enjoyed super cocktails and excellent service. A special mention to the very entertaining pianist.

We travelled here some years ago and am extremely happy, although not surprised to find that it's the same as when we last visited. It's like stepping back in time. Truly old style grandeur. We loved everything about the hotel, Vienna and it's people. They are as gracious as their surroundings.

What a wonderful hotel in the heart of Vienna. Steps away from all the major tourist stops that must be made. Service is impeccable and rooms with view are exquisite. Food spread for breakfast was a dream come true.

The Imperial is one of those rare hotels that hs been able to keep the charm of good old times, when concierges at the hotel knew guests by their surename, with the necessary comfort that modern travelers require. It is certainly not the place for people running after the clock, as things happen at its own pace, but those who... More

We felt like royalty at this wonderful hotel. Service is exceptional and the Concierge managed to find us tickets to a sold-out Vienna Philharmonic concert. Location is perfect for music lovers - short walk to the Opera House (Staatsoper) and around the corner from the Philharmonic (Musikverein). The common rooms are glorious and we had a lovely post-Opera meal in... More

The Imperial is "nestled" on a wide boulevard close to Opera House and the Secessionist Museum and Schwartzenberg Palais. Basically, all of Vienna is a walking town, but this grand hotel is worth the stay and price.

We had a great stay at the hotel, our suite room was surprisingly new and modern and comfortable bed. Hotel staffs were very welcoming and helpful. The location was super and we could walk to many amazing places around easily.

After a few days skiing around Innsbruck, we took a train to Vienna with our final destination of the Imperial. We are SPG Gold members and regularly plan our vacations around Luxury Collection hotels in cities we've never been. This hotel grabbed our attention and it did not disappoint. We were upgraded to a deluxe room and walked into it,... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
