You can't get a better location in Vienna! We were on the fabulous ring road around the central old town. Two blocks from the Opera in one direction and a few blocks from the Johann Strauss restaurant at a park in the other direction. To sit in the huge bar with crystal chandeliers the size of a small house overhead... More

A beautiful building, lovingly restored to maintain its elegant charm. We stayed in a suite and our room was luxurious and well appointed, although the bathroom was on the small side, but adequate for our needs. Nice to have a walk in wardrobe area, which gave us plenty of space to store our luggage, and hang everything up. Although on... More

This hotel was fabulous!!! The rooms are nice and comfortable, the bathroom is incredible too! (Although there was a bit of water spillage on the floor but it would be cleaned up in a few minutes once we left the room). The bar and restaurant downstair was lovely as well as cozy. The food was great, the service was excellent,... More

For these kinds of rates , the staff should lose the attitude. For example, asking the concierge how to use the Internet was treated as a massive inconvenience -- taking time away from him standing at the front desk, staring at the wall and doing nothing.

Spent three glorious nights at this old charm place. The service was impeccable. Got upgraded to two beautiful rooms. My daughter, used to the modern minimalistic hotels, was in absolute awe with the old world luxury and charm. The concierge service was particularly top notch. A must to return.

It is an insult that after paying for one of the most expensive rooms in Vienna, one is greeted with a message that the free internet is too weak to work, and the only way to get a connection is to pay an additional 19 euro per 24 hours of internet. The neighboring McDonald's on the other hand, has a... More

this is one of the most beautiful hotel properties you will ever see and sadly they have turned in from a discreet and lovely hotel that provided personal service into a glorified convention center. I made plans to entertain some friends in the lovely hotel bar and about 20 minutes before they arrived a herd of about 60 people stormed... More

Dear Mr. Quinlan, Thank you for sharing your recent experience at our hotel via various online opinion portals. It was very disappointing for me to learn from my Assistant last Friday and again from our weekend Manager-on-Duty on Monday morning, that your encounter at our “1873 – HalleNsalon” lounge bar tarnished your overall stay that all efforts from my team... Although I have the option of staying in other four-star hotels for the same price or other, less expensive hotels that offer an equally convenient location, I've come back to the Hotel Imperial for a second stay on my most recent trip to Vienna because, frankly, I love it. The service is usually impeccable and the rooms nicely appointed but... More

We can't say enough about this lovely, gracious hotel! We spent two nights here at the start of our vacation and our stay exceeded our expectations in every way. The room on the 5 th floor was charming, spacious and very comfortable. Every day there were delicious fresh nectarines for us. We had two doors with balconies for light, fresh... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
