Ideal for backpackers on a tight budget! Located right next to Westbahnhof station in Vienna, the rooms were quite cheap, considering this is Austria. It is located 20 minutes away from the city center (by walk), which was also a plus. When we checked out, we left our luggage in a storage, and the lady at the reception desk seemed... More

The standard is high, and the location is perfect. I love Westbanhof, and if you won't, you can easily escape it anywhere via U-Bahn. Because this place is rather peaceful and clean, it feels more like a hotel than a crowded hostel. It is great if you are looking for rest as I was.

Good location, the bed was comfortable and the wifi was great but that is really all the positives I have. When I arrived the room hadn't been cleaned properly, when I lifted my bag off the floor it had lots of hair from the ground stuck to it. Yuck. I felt really uncomfortable by the religious vibe, and especially the... More

Had a good stay for 2 nights here. It is very near to Westbanhof station and there is a tram station right outside the place. The rooms have basic facility but also provide robes which is useful when bathrooms are shared. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast is for Eur 8 and its recommended. Interesting thing is that all rooms... More

Very clean and quiet. Location is perfect, few blocks to westbanhof station, and has a tram stop in front of the hostel. Staff are very friendly and speak english. The building used to be a convent so It has its own charm. I definitely recomend It. The room could have been more cheerful and have basic facilities like a cupboard,... More

The hostel is really close to westbahnhof and not a bad walk from the old town. We had a twin room with a shared bathroom. Beds were really comfortable, and towels and robes included. A sink was in the room also. The WC was female and male in the same room which was weird and a bit uncomfortable. The showers... More

Central positioned and very clean. Wifi is slow, toilette and shower cabins are in common. Nice if you want to save money in a relative expensive town. 15 minutes away from Schoenbrunn Palace or Central Museums

It is a great hostel within 5 minutes walking from the tube station and buses, lots of shops in the main road, café and restaurants with Austrian cuisine. The place is very clean and the room was very warm when we arrived. So overall the Hostel is 5*

This hostel is in a great location, just five minutes walk from the Westbahnhof which gives you links to other cities and the underground system. I would really recommend it. The staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed in a private room with shared bathroom which was very clean and there was a private changing area in front of every... More

Withing walking distance of the museum quater and Westbahnhoff. Communal facilities posed no problem and the rooms were spotless. Quiet too which was appreciated. The breakfast was excellent as were the miniature easter eggs very much appreciated overall very good value

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
