This is about as perfect a place as you can find for touring Vienna. Just blocks from the Opera, the Museums, the Hofburg Palace, the Stephensdom area. On a pedestrian street of stores and restaurants. Down the block from the Hotel Sacher. And the price with breakfast is quite reasonable, and it’s one of the few with breakfast included. The... The hotel is located in the very center of Vienna, very close to the Opera and 5 minutes walk from Stephan Platz, still very quite. Trams, buses and metro stations all very close. The staff is very friendly. In spite of being an old building the facility is relatively well maintained and very clean (the rooms and the breakfast room).... More

The location of this hotel couldn't possibly be better, easy walking distance to everything. The rooms extremely comfortable and the buffet breakfast excellent. The personnel were friendly and very helpful with all enquiries and bookings. I confidently recommend this hotel for your stay in Vienna.

The location is superb. My friend and I walked everywhere and we are not young. Very good breakfast buffet included. All the people as the front desk and the breakfast staff are helpful, friendly and warm. After 6 nights I felt like I was leaving friends when I checked out. My single was like a ship's cabin--spotless but very small.... More

Not only this hotel has one of the best locations and good prices for that, but also the personal is very pleasant and helpful. It also serves a very generous breakfast with several kind of cheese, ham, pickles, jams, yogurts, juices and fruits. We've been there on Christmas and got lovely and generous presents when we got back to room... More

Couldn't get a better location to visit Vienna. Absolutely fantastic! We stayed in a triple room and indeed the room size and bathroom were small, however we didn't spend much time there. Staff was very nice and helpful.

The location of this hotel is perfect. It is located on a quiet side street very close to the Albertina, Opera House and Pedestrian Walk. It is a very short walk to the Kalsplatz metro. All the downtown sights are very close - Imperial Apartments, St. Stephens, etc. The staff was very helpful and professional. Both ladies who worked the... More

This hotel was in a perfect location:a fairly quiet street near the Opera and one block off the Kartner Strasse. And it's facade and public areas exude old world charm. The breakfast was decent and the staff was helpful and professional. The rooms were very small and the furnishings were vintage 1980's and starting to show the worse for wear.... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is a European hotel for sure, small rooms, tiny bathroom, but full of charm and coziness. The breakfast was very good and the staff were extremely helpful. The location is excellent - one block from the opera which makes it easy to walk anywhere on the city.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
