This is our 2 trip here and I highly recommend this place very much ... The tube is just across and all the places to visit is walking distance ... Stephenplatz the most happening place is hardly 5-10 min walk ... The room are really excellent... All white interior... So it looks really big and the way the room is... More

This could be a superb hotel, but was let down by a few minor and irritating but easily avoidable issues. The pros- a designer hotel and pretty cool. Location just across the river from the center but walk-able to the main attractions and restaurants etc. We upgraded from a superior to a luxury room (Euro 40 per night). The superior... More

Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom is the best Sofitel I have stayed at so far! I stayed at many sofitels which resulted in me becoming a platinum member. The staff is great and helpful. Rooms and big and have an enjoyable view. The hotel is modern which gives it an advantage. The location is superb and close to many attractions in Vienna.... More

I loved the hotel and loved the modern feel to it. The hotel staff were great.. The one star is lost on the location.. Although it is a good location I would say it's not great because you are a bit off of the city centre where most of everything is going on.. When I did stay in a different... More

I stopped at the Sofitel in Vienna for two nights prior to moving to an apartment. The service at reception was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The spacious room was modern minimal chic in grey monochrome with large windows with a wonderful view over the Danube Canal to the city. The bathroom is open plan to the rest of the room... More

An excellent hotel with great service and lovely design of the rooms. I stayed on the 7th floor and that was enough to see through the beautiful city. However i recommend a South facing room to see the beautiful Vienna. The hotel is topped by a fantastic restaurant called the Loft at the 18th floor. We had breakfast and dinner... More

My wife and I had an outstanding stay from March 20 to 23 at the Sofitel Vienna. Being a Platinum member of Club Accor, we were upgraded to the Black Suite without even asking. A special thanks to Steve Seeger, Assistant Front Office Manager, for making our stay so memorable. The suite was ultra modern and we enjoyed it immensely.... More

Very good location, 90 percent well trained stuff, remaining 10 percent still have long way to destination. Generally this hotel owes features of 5 star hotel, some stuff need more comprehensive training to avoid unprofessional ethic.

All in all we did not have a nice experience in terms of service in Vienna during our stay. The Sofitel met our expectations instead. We got a room on offer and we did enjoy our stay. The hotel was v clean, and everyone was smiley and helpful. Highly recommended. Wifi system can be improved though!

It can't be denied that the hotel is the epitome of trendy, with black lacquered walls and minimalist, modern decor. BUT, we were disappointed with this particular Sofitel. I don't think I would stay here again. 1) View - Great. 2) Location - Near Stephansdom but not THAT near. It's about a 10 minute walk. In bad weather, this will... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
