We couldn't have found a place better to stay in Vienna than K&T Boardinghouse for our family of 6. We had two rooms - a quad and a double - and both were wonderfully comfortable, simple and clean. The location is ideal down the street from a subway station and bus stop and also within a (medium) walking distance from... More

We stayed here for 3 nights - perfect for us It's located in a large building on a small street. Several rooms on the floor but felt very private. A nice size room with "smallish" bathroom w/very good shower. You can catch a bus literally 20 feet from the front door to visit Vienna sights. We chose to walk everywhere... More

The room was huge & really comfortable. Great value for money! Tina was really helpful with things to do/see in Vienna & gave excellent cafe/ restaurant recommendations. Close to u-Bahn station & it was peaceful/ quiet in the house. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

My daughter and I stayed at K & T for 3 nights in December 2015 while exploring Vienna. Location is very central so we walked to all markets and sights. We did buy a 24 hours transit pass and went out to Grinzing one day. ( would not go here in winter as basically closed down) K & T rooms... More

My daughter and I travelled to Vienna to visit the Christmas markets and galleries. K&T is in an ideal location for walking just about everywhere. In one day we walked 16 miles!! Vienna is a fabulous city to explore on foot. K&T is spotlessly, clean, warm simple, reasonably priced and the beds are comfy. Tina, our hostess, was warm, friendly... More

Excellent value. Stayed for four nights. Tina was extremely accommodating when our flight was cancelled and we missed a night. She was also an exceptional guide and host, always offering us assistance. Very nice building in an amazing location. Free WiFi in rooms was helpful as this was part of a business trip. We found the beds to be somewhat... More

From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome. Tina gave us a very warm welcome by showing us our room and going through the top sights to see in Vienna. She was readily available throughout our entire stay. We were located next door to the metro, which was very convenient and to tons of shopping! The room was lovely... More

Awesome location, close to everything. Tina was great. No bar soap or wash rags tho.The building was very cool. Metro and bus was right there, walking to shops, bars, cafes was a breeze. Common fridge in hallway for all to use. Got humid in room after shower so open the window a bit. Come and go as you would anywhere... More

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
