We spent a week in Vienna as the wife had to attend a conference. As we were booked last minute, accommodation was not easy to come by. We stumbled upon this place almost by chance under "specialty lodging" (yes, we were quite desperate) and went for it as the reviews seemed good. We weren't disappointed. We had an entire 1... More

Located in the immediate vicinity of the Vienna Opera House and St. Stephen's Cathedral, this hotel offers an excellent base for exploring downtown Vienna on foot or by public transport. Very helpful staff that will go out of its way to assist visitors by recommendations (Kudos to the lady at the reception desk who speaks Hungarian). Reasonable breakfast selection (available... Great location, nice rooms, But after a long flight from North America getting to hotel at 9AM. Unable to check in until 2PM the 5 hour wait was too long. I was not offered a water, juice or coffee. No wifi password. just "check in is at 2PM". Granted the other guest had till noon to check out. They have limited... More

Excellent location one street back from the Opera House and within easy walking distance of St Stephens and Hofburg Castle and many cafes and restaurants. The apartment is very spacious and well equipped so making it great for families. Would highly recommend.

Overall this was a very nice hotel to stay in. I chose one of the apartment style units and was pleased with the layout, space, and overall comfort. The A/C was strong and easy to adjust and it was relatively quiet. I likely would have given this hotel a 4-5/5, if not for one issue, however. 2 nights before leaving... More

Just completed a two night stay in this lovely aparthotel. We had a two bedroom apartment that was really lovely. Nice decor, comfy beds etc. the bonus of the location is its close proximity to the metro, trams and buses. They are currently building a restaurant but we experienced no noise or disruption. In the metro station (karlspatz) there are... More

Conveniently located near the City Center and steps away from a metro stop. Large, comfortable apartments. Unfortunately, the air conditioning for my flat malfunctioned and could not be immediately repaired. Moving to another unit was too inconvenient, so the manager offered a reasonable price adjustment to the room cost. Bathroom arrangement was a bit unusual - bathtub and sink next... More

We very much enjoyed staying at the Derag in Vienna: - Perfect location close to all the major attractions and the subway station. - Friendly, welcoming and service oriented staff. - Our executive family apartment was spacious, spotless and well equipped. - SPAR (supermarket chain) located across the street Whar more can you ask for? .

We were very pleased with our 3 night stay here. The location is superb, being near the Opera House and 5-10 mins walk away from Stephansdom, the Museums and Naschmarkt. The Karlsplatz subway entrance is just outside the hotel. We selected the family style apartment, which was a good size. It had a separate bedroom (with double bed) and in... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
