This place is just what we expected: clean, minimalist, centrally located, and quiet. Three of us stayed in an upper room that was quite comfortable. When we were there in July 2014, there was a heat wave and we were fine with a fan. The third bed was just as good as the others, much better than the usual "not... More

Spent a week here. Small, quiet yet in the center of the bustling old city. Great buffet breakfast. Friendly staff were always there to help us find our way. The location is near many wonderful things. Lots of restaurants, shops and the Ring nearby.

This was somewhat of a cross between a hostel and a hotel. We went in December for the Christmas markets and lo and behold there is a market right outside the church as well as 5 more within 5 minutes in various directions. The room accommodations are very basic and worn but clean. It is a good sized room with... More

Excellent location... Christmas market right outside and most attractions are walking distance. The guest house is well kept, clean & quiet. The breakfast is decent. Wifi is good. There is a bar called Freyung across the street. That's really nice, good music & good food.

We went for the Christmas markets and we were not disappointed. There is a market right outside the monetary as well as up the road. The main Christmas market is only 5 mins walk at the Rauthaus. The accommodation is superiority furnished. A good size, there is a nice bathroom and good sized bedroom. The bed was a conjoined double... More

While the B-house isn't fancy, it is clean, quiet, affordable and within blocks of all the wonderful Vienna sights. It was also the best breakfast and coffee we had during our Europe adventure. I highly recommend it and would absolutely stay there again.

I'm usually attracted to off beat locations and the opportunity to stay in the very heart of the city was too good to miss. This small hotel is literally inside the monastery and entry is through a massive steel door on the front but once inside and up the reception on the first floor things look more familiar. The staff... More

special accomodation in ancient convent guesthouse, staff very welcoming, rooms spacious and comfortable, very clean, furniture somewhat dated, but good mattress & spotless bathroom, good breakfast, prime location for exploring on foot but close to bus & subway, unobtrusive religious activities, if you want something out of the ordinary this is where you find it. wifi sometimes wobbly, but this... I absolutely loved my stay here. It is centrally located and an easy 5 minute walk to everything you'll want to see in the town center. Restaurants, shops, grocery, public transportation all within a stone's throw of the front door. My room was on the 3rd floor and was large, airy and had windows that opened onto a lovely courtyard... More

I give it a four stars is for it good location, good WiFi, quiet and clean room, but no air-conditioning for hot summer. Breakfast is ok, not great. The girl who services in that room is not very helpful, no interaction with anybody, not even a "good morning!" or presents a smile face.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
