Excellent guesthouse right in the centre so easy to reach many sites on foot. Most rooms face an inner courtyard so very quiet, even on New Year's Eve! Generous breakfast buffet gives a good start to the day. Would definitely stay here again.

What is there not to like about staying in an old historical building and monastery?? The room was clean and very comfortable. A short walk to the Museum Quarter and a lot of sites. And an even shorter walk to the metro lines from where you can explore the city. Really a great place to stay and can recommend without... More

A really really nice place to stay within walking distance of everything. Rooms were huge, and the ambience serene. Easy near-by parking (pricey, but discounted via the benediktushaus). Excellent breakfast. Would definitely stay here again!

The guest house is in a good location for discovering Vienna on foot. In addition, it is two city blocks from the subway and the trams on the Ring. There are few frills (no clock, radio, television) in this church-related house, but it offers a pleasant, comfortable environment. It does have an elevator. Our room was very comfortable and a... Hotels are pricey in Vienna if you want to stay in historic central part of the city. Benedikthaus offers low price for the quality stay. This place is a part of the church, but it is nice and clean. Very good breakfast included. Wi-fi is free, but not always working in the room, but it is available in the lobby.... More

We stayed for 2 nights and were charmed by this unique place. Don't expect luxury but the atmosphere is so cerene and peaceful and happy, and you are staying in an old monastery. We enjoyed a lot. The interned didn't work in the room so we sit outside the room in the sitting area, but that was known before we... More

The Benediktushaus is not for anyone who can't live without WIFI or TV, if these things don't worry you then give this place a try. My room had WifI some times, it was all very hit and miss but added to the experience. The room I had was large, simple in a pleasant way, everything was clean and well maintained.... More

You feel really special slipping through the almost hidden door of the Benediktushaus. The rooms are comfortable and staff very helpful and friendly. You can access all of the ringstrasse from here as your home base. An amazing value for the location. The quiet atmosphere is refreshing after being out and about with the crowds.

Although a fairly simple hotel, everything was able to meet our needs. We had a triple room on the third floor which was quiet and able to get wifi access, no air-con but we were fine with just the fan and the lovely massive window overlooking a courtyard. The breakfast was good, a large variety for a continental breakfast. The... More

This place is just what we expected: clean, minimalist, centrally located, and quiet. Three of us stayed in an upper room that was quite comfortable. When we were there in July 2014, there was a heat wave and we were fine with a fan. The third bed was just as good as the others, much better than the usual "not... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
