We arrived to find problems checking in, a bunch of our rooms weren't ready for us and the staff kept throwing unrealistic promises of when they would be at us. I was very ill and just needed bed rest so this was especially frustrating. The staff were neither friendly or apologetic. For the hours we were waiting for our rooms... More

This hotel was bigger and more modern than most European hotels. The breakfast was good and the staff was wonderful. We actually had 3 beds in our room and it was nice to have a place to sit and also place our suitcases.

Got good last minute deal. Room was up to date, quiet and cleaned daily. Didn´t take breakfast as I considered it to cost too much (13-14 EUR per person) insted we went for a breakfast nearby Tram station was 100 m away and nr 43 took as right to the city centre. Staff was helpful too..

The location is great, but the hotel is ........below average for his 3 stars. The staff is sometimes polite (depends whom is at the front desk), the smoke is horrible in the lobby, we didn't had breakfast there, and I think it was a great decision. OK for a very short period.

Rooms are all with single beds up to 4 in the room. No real closet for clothes to hang, plywood box with the curtain, no coffee maker and no real furniture in the room, just simple desk, chair and night stand. The pillow and blanket needs to be replaced. Breakfast area so crowded that you can not find clean table... More

We stay in this hotel for 3 days for our trip to Vienna booked thru gate1travel , overall location is convenient, even need to take a tram first to get to nearest metro, then metro to the center of the city - takes about 20-25 min. Transportation system in Vienna is very good. I recommend to buy 72 hour pass.... More

My boyfriend has recently moved to Austria, Europe. Unfortunately, the apartment he had rented wasn't ready for moving in which is why he tried to find an inexpensive hotel in Vienna; with success! The Senator Hotel is located in the 17th district (Hernals) of Vienna. Public transportation is excellent - there is a tram stop right in front of the... More

We run the Vienna city marathon and we stayed 3 nights at Senator hotel it's in a good position near the bus station, the rooms are clean, good breakfast. I give just 2 points because of the staff, they are not kind, some of them don't speak english (or were they just kidding me?)

Staying in Ottakring

Neighborhood Profile
Ottakring
The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).
