Great hotel very centrally located to walk round the main sites of Vienna. The rooms were excellent with great bathrooms. Quiet area but within easy walking distance of good cafes and restaurants. Very helpful staff.

We were very lucky to select this hotel for our four nights stay in Vienna. Everything was really great starting with fantastic location and finishing with very helpful concierge. The room was spacious and comfortable and even had tea and coffe facility. The only one negative moment was always crowded breakfast room. The rest was very good.

A very nice hotel that met our needs. Pleasant folks and very nice rooms. It is directly across from the major train station, 15-30 minutes from much of sites you will want to visit. Most of the tour buses including the hop on, hop buses are at the front door. Lobby limited and we did not eat in the hotel... More

The Steigenberger Herrenhof is an excellent, modern hotel with all the amenities that one expects. It is located in an easy walk from the Hofburg Palace, a slightly longer walk to St. Stephen's Cathedral and all the busy activity around there, the Vienna State Opera, and (a little further on) Karlskirche. The Cafe Central is a few doors away and... More

Great service, good food, lovely decor, amazing location, what more could you ask for? The wifi is the only issue - the free one isn't adequate to do anything useful online and you have to keep registering for it. But everything else is perfect. The spa is especially nice.

Perfect location and reasonable prices (check out their specials online), along with good service make this a good find. The rooms are small - though not unexpected given its First District location, and it suffers from typical lack of appreciable air conditioning - not unusual in Austria. Also do not understand why European hotels so frequently insist on only having... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
