We stayed 4 nights. I was doubtful at first considering the price we paid. We paid for an "economy" room which means it is in the old building. To me, neither the building nor room looked old! Basic but good size room. Nice cafes nearby, and Nachmarkt is within walking distance. We even walked to the State Opera House. The... More

We visited Kolpinghaus Wien-Zentral for 3 nights. The hotel is located in a really good area close to the center, the museums and the opera. It is a really nice place for the money you spend and it is also used as a dormitory for the university I think. The rooms are really spacious and comfortable and quite clean (some... More

Great location, around 10 min walk to Opera house and Museum Quarter. Also has underground parking for 15 euros a day, so it's very convenient. Excellent breakfast selection, but WiFi works kinda slow.

Reached there in the late evening. Took me half an hr to locate my room (after the zigzags and labyrinths). Only a lady staff at the reception counter. After all, our room is huge with a small fan and a small TV. Very spacey. Breakfast was satisfying. Love the sausages and ketchups. Tea bags, coffee machines.....etc . Immediately bought a... More

Good- Close to the city center and museums.Secure parking. Breakfest is good. Bad- The staff, expecialy the manager. I think they have a problem with reservention made on Booking.com. The rooms are not clean. The furniture is old and basic. I don't think is a hotel , is more a student hostel. The smell from the kitchen on the the hallway.... More

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
