Owners are so friendly & welcoming. The room was very nice and clean, provided with everything you need for your stay. In a quiet area so slept very easily. There is a Spar round the corner for your food shop, along with a cosmetics shop. Literally a 2min walk to the U-bahn. Only bad thing is we spotted some ants... More

This was an incredible find for those who need self catering and close to the city! It is quite close to the Herminengasse exit of the Schottenring station of the U-Bahn (Local Underground) so if you take the Underground you need to get off at this station and find the Herminengasse exit as it will save a ton of time

We were 9 people & we spent 5 nights at this hotel. Our rooms were divided between two buildings. The area was quiet and relaxing. There were many restaurants close by, and a Billa chain supermarket. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful. We made good use of the kitchenette. Unfortunately there was a strange unpleasant smell, possibly because... More

Clean enough but if you're a clean freak like me,you'll notice the bit of dust and hair of previous guests on the floor. Very close to metro station. Coffee/tea making facilities but there was also a small fridge&microwave oven that make life easier.

Descriptions can be deceptive. We had #12 with loft and courtyard view which sounded delightful. But the courtyard is the bottom of a high concrete canyon with views of some potted plants, bike racks and garbage bins. The apartment is always dark; it appears bright in pictures because of large flourescent lights. The first look is a shock because floors... More

The Gross family run this collection of rooms and apartments in this very good area for those looking for synagogues, kosher restaurants, etc. They were extremely hospitable and tried to meet our every need. The apartment could use some refurbishment, but otherwise, we couldn't have been happier with this place meeting our needs.

From the first minutes we felt at home there. The place is very close to city center(15 minutes walk, even less if you are in good shape) and the owner and the stuff are really helpfull. Our flight back was on the evening, but there was no pressure on us to free room early in the morning,as it happened in other hotels. Two minor disadvantages:the... When we confirmed our stay we were sent a map showing us which metro stop to use from the train station and how to find the apartments from there. Directions were clear, and we found the check in location with no trouble. Check in was simple, and we were escorted to our apartment. The room itself was a two level... More

My daughter and I just stayed at the Leichtenstein Apartment Hotel...and I highly recommend it...it is in the Jewish neighborhood in Vienna, and the owners make you feel at home...the apartments are spacious and clean, and they patiently help you figure your way around Vienna, especially if this is your first time...they speak English and Hebrew as well as German.... This was a very nice and hospitable place to stay, especially if you want to keep Shabbat and buy Kosher food. They have everything you need in the room: microwave, kettle, electric burners, fridge, toaster, boiler for Shabbat - they even have an iron and a hairdryer! It's in close walking distance from a lot of kosher places and very... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
