We got a Classic Quadruple Room for 4 adult people for about 90 euros including private bathroom. The sleep was ok but we only slept during late night hours. The breakfast was expensive so we skipped it. Parking we got on a nearby park, the Hotel sold us the parking card. We were walking distance of major attractions, yet again... More

We stayed just one day in Wien and in this hotel. It was good and clear, but was noisy because of the traffic and the trams. That's why we couldn't sleep very well :( We didn't have breakfast there, so I can say nothing about it.

We were greeted by Denise and check in was so smooth, we were offered a map and help with directions- always great when arriving in a new city! The old fashioned elevator is just such a nice feature in the hotel. We felt like we were staying I'm a huge house which was nice and felt homely. Was very clean... More

I spent almost nothing for a nice and clean room (50 euro per night). The only complain is the girl at the entrance during the day. She should learn to be more polite! The night guys were perfect. I didn't take the breakfast and I didn't use the restaurant. My room was facing the internal courtyard.

I have to write something about attitude of the hotel staff. If you do anything wrong even by mistake and it's not your fault. The hotel will charge you anyway. Because hotel personal is trained and that's why everything was handled correctly from their side. But if you do something wrong. Don't you dare! Hotel doesn't put customers first. So... More

This was the first hotel on a 17 day trip through Europe & we could not have been more pleased. We had 3 beds in our room, although we only needed two. The breakfast buffet and dining room were great. The staff was super helpful and Denise is a real treasure. A short walk to the tram line which gets... More

As last minute choice this was ok. Very helpfull Staff (Thanks Denise). Very good breakfast (still miss the espresso). Free 100% fast WiFi. We needed beds, balkonny to smoke, breakfast and a shower and that's what we got on the "innergarden side" of the building. Everyting was very clean. Ok the decoration on the walls looks old but is not,... More

1.This is supposed to be bed and breakfast hotel - but is not clearly communicated that way. 2. While the breakfast is beautiful - the bed part is awful. 3. The bathroom is funny, very small and difficult to use. 4. The electric points are non-existent or awkwardly placed. 5. Housekeeping needs to be improved. 6. The feel in the... More

We stayed at the Baronesse from Nov. 28th to Dec.2, two couples (late 20s), on a budget. Let me begin with the fact that I booked this hotel months ago, when the rating was above 80%, and whenever I returned to TripAdvisor the rating seemed to drop, which made we worried. I had NOTHING to worry about. I don't know... More

A group of us stayed here in October and were terribly disappointed. We were told it was a 4 star hotel and I would rate it as a 1 star! The pictures of the rooms are very misleading. Our room was very dusty, there was mold in the windows and bathrooms, the wall sconces were askew, bulbs were brunt out... More

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theater, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighborhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicenter. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighborhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
