I have mixed emotions about Pension a und a. Positives: The rooms are very nice and modern, with very comfortable beds. The location is great, very close to major attractions, restaurants and high-end shops. The women that work at the reception desk are very nice. Negatives: It is very difficult to find. If you arrive after about 5:00, the front... More

I've been in A-und-A twice. A couple of years ago and recently in 2015. The location in the heart of Vienna is perfect. The rooms are nice, large and comfortable. Breakfast is OK, not more. First minus: the maintenance of the hotel is going down slowly (wall, bathroom, ..). Second minus (more important): THE HOTEL A-und-A CHARGED TWICE ON MY... More

Apart from it's location there is not much going for it. After traveling on this visit for five weeks in Europe and staying in 3 to 5 star hotels, we know what to expect in 4 star establishment. I would give this establishment 2 star rating (charging 4 star price). Here are reasons why: 0. No management, service desk only... More

This is a great place to stay to be near all the sights. The pension is clean with spacious rooms and modern furnishings. The only complaint I have is that they were late putting out breakfast both mornings we were there. This caused us to get a later start than we had hoped. Minor issue since it is so close... More

The pension was !arketedas a 4 star establishment, at the reswrbatiom face an option for free in-room breakfast was ofered. The reality was the establishment was a 2-3 star place where the location pushes it up to 3 stars and the in-room breakfast was a buffe where you got the breakfast and carried it too your room, as there was... I visited last month and booked in march. They charged me twice and said they over charged 8 others. Had difficulty making contact with owners. Did by phone and advised it would be rectified. By person they assured it would be taken care of in 7 days. 1 month later it is still not paid. People make mistakes but they... More

We stayed for two nights at this very well located small hotel. There are only 6 rooms on the third floor of an old building. There is a charming old lift. Our room was very clean and large enough for our needs. We did not have a view as there was a wall behind us. There were long white window... More

I am supposed to stay in this pension house. The factors that I considered selecting this unit were its accessibility and price. I arrived around 2 PM after an almost 24-hr flight. I rang the bell, unfortunately, no one was answering. I tried calling the reception but no one was picking up the phone. I did these several times to... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
