This place was amazing. When arriving we were a little worried about what we had got ourselves into, its a apartment block have to get buzzed in and a code to get the key - the area you come into doesnt look that great almost like a service entrance but when you get into the apartment its amazing. Large bedroom... More

We have stayed in "Superior" Apartament and this kind of room is going to be describe below, as I have not seen any other. I will start with benefits, because all in all I was very satisfied with my stay: 1. roomy - two separate rooms; 2. fully equipped kitchen annex; 3. extremely kind and helpful stuff ( early check-in... I stayed here for one night at start of a conference. Negatives- the location was pretty difficult to find. I neede to get directions off multiple people before finding it as it wasn't very well sign posted. Positives- huge apartment, large bathroom, nice small clean kitchenette. The bed was very comfortable. The room was really warm when I arrived out... More

The location of this property is perfect. It has great eating across the road at the University, access to trams, buses, underground, etc which made our stay easy for getting around. The city centre is not far to walk however you can catch a tram if you want. WIFI worked well, the apartment was very good and we found it... More

Let's start with the location: it's perfect. Just across the University of Vienna campus (convenient, if you have some business to do over there). There are 4 tram stops that can take you to either Shottentor or Alsser Strasse U-bahn stations in no time - the first one is also a good point for starting exploring the historic centre. There... Stayed in hotel 2 families for a night. Before going into the many negatives of the place, a positive bonus was that they let us keep 2 rooms for a late checkout, saying "we do not need them". As good as it sounds it has a meaning in a city hotel in August. The negatives: We reserved 2 four bed... More

We stayed in 2 hotels on this occasion and then we found the Josefstadt Apartments. We stayed in a corner apartment with lots of windows and space. Loved every minute - the apartment was well equipped with a Nespresso machine in the kitchen - especially important first thing in the morning. If you have sensitive ears you will probably have... The Appartment we stayed in (309) was obviously newly refurbished with new equipment and furniture. A small kitchen was fully equipped (dishwasher, microwave, kettle, coffee maker etc), the living room had a dining table for 4, coffee table and two chairs (a sofa would be great to have too though), wardrobe (with safe in it) and small LCD TV (TV/DVD... We spent one night at these appartments and then moved to a hotel in the centre of Vienna. The entrance is intimidating and looks like poor quality student accommodation. There is no concierge at the entrance just a carpet leading to a lift. Coming out of the lift we were met with a bleak corridor with a floor painted purple... More

We arrived quite late at the accomodation. Checking in was very efficient. The manager although have given us specific instructions for self check in, had adequate interaction with us. The room was spacious, clean, and the kitchen was well equipped. The location is very convenient for travelling around in the tube, tram, and buses. If you're fit, you can do... More

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theater, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighborhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicenter. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighborhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
