It is an excellent youth hostel. Very clean, friendly and helpful staff, characterful building, really decent breakfast, convenient location. Tiny room but comfortable and the shared bathroom was clean with good showers.

On our stay this was our cheapest accommodation and it shows. The biggest issue was that there were NO towels included! We had to use the linen for drying us up! The distance from the station was walkable, but a bit longish - though there are frequent buses. Breakfast was not included but the extra price was worth it, as... More

20 mins walk from the station, along regular bus routes for the town centre. It has been a great location for cycling daytrips, as there are excellent and challenging rides in any direction. The staff is exceptionally helpful, breakfast is a good selection. Private rooms are good value. Only downsides are that there is a lot of road noise if... More

We only stayed for one night so I can't say much, the view from the window was beautiful. The staff was quite friendly and helpful and told us where to go for a meal (unfortunately they were wrong as everything was closed so if you do arrive quite late hopefully you'll have some sandwiches packed, otherwise there is 1 takeaway... It is a great hostel as its very cheap and does what it says. It is in an amazing old building with lots of facilities such as a lounge, dining room, kitchen, games room etc. downsides are that you don't get wifi in your room only in public areas which is fine. Also you have to make your own bed... More

Stayed here several times. It has been a great location for cycling daytrips, as there are excellent and challenging rides in any direction. The staff is exceptionally helpful, especially Bettina. They really go out of their way to provide information. Breakfast is quite decent as well. Private rooms are good value. Only downsides are that there is a lot of... More

Chose to stay here because of the reviews on tripadvisor. Really wanted to stay in St Gallen, but due to high prices in Switzerland we chose to stay just over the boarder in Austria. The Hostel was in a really nice historic building and the reception spoke perfect English and was very friendly and helpful. For value it was excellent,... More

Normally we don't stay at hostels but in case of this one we took our chances because of positive reviews and historic building. In the end we were completly satisfied with this experience, but must say the room was TOO small. It was four-five square meters max with two bunk beds, tiny table and a couple of chairs, all amenities... More

Not normally a hostel person - but this was a great stay!! Only €35 for the room with 3 of us - there were 10 beds in the room and it would have been very cramped. Free internet station and bus stop just outside to take you to town and also onto Lichtenstien. Fantastic historic building as well and staff... More

Renovated to a superb standard, this is a wonderful place to stay. The staff are wonderful, and the building - a 500 year old hospital - is absolutely beautiful. We paid 35 euro for private use of a 4-bed room: it was small but spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable. The toilets were so clean you almost felt bad... More
