This hotel is relatively cheap and located not far from the city center, but is not friendly to international travelers. When we (2 clean-cut late 20-somethings) went to check in at the hotel for 2 nights, the manager/owner was continuously rude towards us. Nevertheless, the room seemed fine, if small, and while they had a lot of rules about locking the doors and checking out early, we were in a pinch, so we attempted to rent the room.

The manager must have had a bad experience, because they demanded that we look through a list of rules (that were only in german), I guess for legal reasons. When we attempted to pay for the room up front (for the record, 75% of the hotels we stayed in trusted us enough to pay at check out), they used some crazy scooby-doo detective work to (wrongfully) determine that we were trying to pay with a fake credit card.
