Recently we stayed for 4 nights at Hotel Neuwirt in Axams, Innsbruck. I have stayed in a gasthof in Austria before, and realising this is actually a hotel not a gasthof, I wasn't expecting to get the same "family" feel at Hotel Neuwirt. Well, not only was there no family-feel to the place, but it was downright unfriendly at times. If we had any questions, there was very rarely anyone in reception to ask, there was little help by way of postings in the lobby on how to get around to the 6 different ski places (we could only figure out how to get to one, Axamer Lizum - see my review for that), the breakfast was poor, and the hot water in the room sometimes didn't work.There were three restaurants across from the hotel, of which we attended two, and of which both were very good. One of the restaurants in particular was fabulous! It alone made our stay at Hotel Neuwirt not a complete failure.
