Super clean, and comfortable. Easy to get into Salzburg by bus. Lots of information to help you get around Good car parking. Try the bakery across the road Farm next door a bit smelly, hopefully a seasonal smell!

We are a family of 3 and Frau Ballwein welcomed us with comfort.Immaculately clean, good breakfast, bus stop outside the door, this was like staying in a gingerbread house.Kitchenette and 2 bedrooms,2 km from town.Lovely. Do buy a Salzburg card, good value. Also the Mozart dinner concert at St Peters was amazing, once in a lifetime.

Fraud Ballwein greeted us warmly each time we saw her. The room was a good size and we could see the Untersberg from ou balcony window. We had our own key so we could come and go as we liked. We usually weren't out too late though since sights and shops close early in Salzburg. Breakfast every morning was a... More

To get here, you have to take a couple buses from the city center, but it was so worthwhile. We found the bus system to be quite reliable, on-time, and easy to navigate. The view from this B&B is spectacular and the accommodations make you feel so comfortable. The room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast was plentiful and... More

We stayed with our 3 children in an apartment at haus Ballwein last december. The owners are really friendly, rooms are lovely, breakfast is great. The guesthouse is not far from the centre. There is a busstop right in front of the house. We visited the Haus der Natur, a fantastic museum for young and old! The city centre is... More

Spacious & clean room. Warm & very helpful host. Homely environment. Bus stop right in front & only take < 10 min to city center. Also, bakery cum mini mart just across the street. For such a price, it's a bargain! Value-added indeed! Highly recommended.

The price for this room was a steal - it's cheaper due to the location south of town. However, if you get a salzburg card, rides on the local busses were included, and we were able to take those into town. (Make sure to check and know the schedule so you don't miss it, it runs RIGHT on schedule, it's... More

This is a lovely place to stay, spacious room, great little kitchenette area, very clean and warm. We are travelling as a family of four and found the hosts to be really helpful. The bus ride into town was easy and short. We had a wonderful time in Salzburg and then happily returned to this lovely base at night. Breakfast... More

My wife and I and two friends stayed at Haus Ballwein for three nights in September. Many great selling points. You are on a farm with appropriate aromas and open fields yet only an efficient 20 minute bus ride from the Aldstadt. Very nice, bright, cheery, comfortable rooms with plenty of space. Our room had a little kitchenette, dining table,... More

We loved our stay at Haus Ballwein. What could be more idyllic than sipping wine (from a local grocery) on your balcony at dusk and watching deer prance in the meadow in front of spectacular mountain scenery! Large, airy rooms with quality furniture and shiningly clean! And those country sounds in early morning (rooster, cows, church bells) were a great... More
