We stayed at this charming gasthaus in Jan. 2005. What a treat! It truly is a charming bavarian gasthaus. The furnishings, the art, the wonderful woodbeam ceilings with the handcarvings were so perfect. We had a wonderful breakfast of fresh meats and cheeses, cereals, rolls. Stay here if you have a chance!

Best find on my recent trip to Austria, Germany and Hungary was the homey Steinerhof Guesthouse on the edge of Salzburg. If you do not mind stairs, ask for rooms 5 or 6 on the 2nd floor.
