Not such a great place to stay - I'd advise you head to the YoHo. Lots of school groups/football groups making lots of noise at a ridiculous time of night! The staff in general were not so brilliant (there was one good guy), I mean they were okay, just not excellent! The room we stayed in was not great. Very... more

The hostel has nice rooms, staff is friendly, breakfest is good (bread, ham, juice,...). Easy access to the city center a foot or with trolley. Have no complains. more

A lot of people have complained about the noisy school groups. I did see a bit of this, but the private rooms seem to be well separated from the dorms so I didn't have any problems with them making noise or being annoying and getting in the way. The private rooms had just been renovated so they were very modern,... more

This place was full of screaming children, scary bunkbeds, and dirty bathrooms. The main lobby is a nice place to chill out and meet people, however the rooms are claustrophobic and it is very difficult to climb up to the top bunks! The bathrooms were sweaty, smelled, and had just a small shower curtain, so you felt a bit vulnerable!... more

This was the first youth hostel I have ever stayed in, and it was of better quality, and less than half the price of some of the pensions and hotels I had stayed in on my trip around Europe. We stayed in a newly refurbished twin room (with ensuite) @26Euro each a night inc. breakfast, with sheets and towels provided.... more

We stayed here in the August of 2003. The rooms were clean and convenient. The bathroom was small but very clean, as were the sheets. The breakfast included in the tariff was adequate. Its possible to walk to the centre of the town from the hostel. On the flipside, it was really hot in August, so the windows had to... more

My daughter and I stayed at the JGH Hostel in June 2006. The hostel was fine. We did have to stay in a 10 person dorm because we did not book early enough. While the hostel had comfortable amenities such as, a good breakfast, laundry facilities, rental bicycles and decent beds, I was very impressed with the attitude of the... more

This was a very good chose and well worth the very affordable price. Its only a 5 min walk into the historical centre, down a alley way, so initialy a bit hard to find. There is parking available for free. The hostel seems like a converted school house but its clean and the room is a nice size. We are... more

I've just returned from a 2 weeks Germany & Austria backpacking trip. Stayed in a private twin room with private bathroom for 2 nights in JGH Hostel Salzburg. It was my first time staying in a hostel in Europe and the first experience was a good one. The room & toilets (private & basement) were clean. The furniture wasn't modern... more

We got a private twin room with private bathroom. Good: -Rooms are clean (but not modern) -Breakfast is OK but the queues (from school groups) are huggeeee so leave extra time if you are doing a tour etc. It's good that you can take a roll and some cheese etc for lunch to save money. -I think it's the only... more
