Salzburg is a small city compared to other European tourist destinations, so on map it may looks like its far from the city center, but in fact its just 15 minutes on a bus. The place is quiet. The owner Ms. Schwaiger is very pleasant and helpful. She has managed to find a beautiful bouquet for my wife's birthday -... More

The hotel is located 20 minutes by bus to the city center. The bus station is just across the street. So, this is acceptable. There are free parking spaces - a big plus in Salzbourg for those who travel by car. Poor breakfast (I'm not gourmand, but comparing with the one in Neorion, Istanbul.... ). No working wi-fi (actually, this... More

We wouldn't really have much to say either positive or negative and but for the receptionists who both (morning and evening shifts) made us feel very welcome and were extremely helpful, this would have gotten an average rating. The rooms are very spacious though even though a little dated, but the bathroom was small and I'm sure some people would... More

Was there for 1 night with my wife and my adult daughter. My 3-bed room was a double room with one more uncomfortable bed. No water pressure neither in the basin nor in the shower. Could not even wash my hair and had troubles to get the shower gel off. Hair dryer working but could not use it. Soap available... More

This was a good value for money hotel. No frills, but a large enough room, clean and comfortable. I only wish they would provide some tea/ coffee making facilities. The room had a large bathroom which looked newly renovated. There was an italian Restaurant on the side of the hotel and a small beer garden. Next door was an Cake... More

The hotel ist located north of Salzburg at the rim of the city, right at a busy street. The neighbourhood is not really pleasant. A kind of mix or transition between industrial and suburban. Restaurants, Pubs, etc. are hard to find in the vicinity. There is an independant Italian restaurant within the hotel building, though. But who on earth comes... More

Fellow Travellers! We searched a long time to find a hotel that would provide a family room for two parents with two young children (aged 9 & 10) and the Plainbrucke hotel met this need. A four-person room with breakfast was 135 Euro/night. I was a bit concerned after reading the January 5, 2006 review on this website but our... More

Well, based on the good reviews I`ve seen here and in some other places, I`ve gone to this "hotel" Plainbrucke in Austria. I have booked a single room for the price of 70 EUR / night for 7 nights and faxed my credit card as a deposit. But when I arrived .. surprise. The room looked like it does in... More

After looking around the net for a reasonably-priced Salzburg hotel, I realised that it would be difficult to find one during festival time in the centre of town. I instead found this gem which is a 15-minute bus ride from the centre, but don't worry as there is a bus stop just across the road and the buses come every... More

This is family run guesthouse in the northern part of the city. Frau Schweigart and her adult daughters(proprietors) were extremely helpful, friendly and accomodating. The location is very convenient to the Salzach River which runs to downtown Salzburg. There are wonderful hiking/biking paths which are located on both banks of the river and provide an easy, scenic hike into Old... More
