We did an overnight (1 night) trip to Salzburg from Ansbach and found this gem of a hotel. It was a 15-minute walk to the Altstadt, and it's right around the corner from a direct route via city bus. The hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful, the location was nice- just far enough away from the middle of things... More

Great hotel, in an ideal location for exploring the beautiful city of Salzburg. Only 15 mins walk into the old town, but has a bus stop opposite that will take you straight there, though it is seriously just a 15 min stroll. Excellent breakfast, with lots of choice and attentive staff. Free parking available in the grounds. Clean comfortable rooms... More

We loved being able to walk to old town and the Chriskindle marts. It was an easy walk even in winter. Also it's proximity to the bus line is wonderful. We took the bus (No. 2) from the train station to the hotel and also took a bus to see other sights. The beds were wonderfully comfortable but the pillows... More

Young couple. Stayed here 4 nights in September, using Salzburg as a base for driving to nearby towns (as well as visiting Salzburg). 2 hrs drive to Innsbruck/Seefeld, less than an hour to the nice lake towns like St Wolfgang, Bad Ischl & Hallstatt (the later is a must see). There is a bus to old-town but seriously, its not... More

The Ganslhof Hotel offers very large clean rooms for a reasonable price. Reasonable for Salzburg that is. Free parking next to the hotel. The bus (#4) to the old town is just 50m from the hotel. The breakfast was very good itch fresh scrambled eggs, variety of cereals, cold meats, cheeses, etc. Staff were helpful and courteous. We really appreciated... More

Easy 15-20 minute walk from the train station. On the edge of city center , but a straight walk there and easy to find. Family owned business where they were professional but not overly friendly. The rooms were comfortable and clean, but the pillows and towels left a bit to be desired.. Great restaurant across the street. The only real... More

The only good feature of this hotel is the breakfast hall. It's very modern and nice. The breakfast is OK. The room had only 1 socket, not anywhere near the bed. The TV was old and small, the remote hardly worked and I had to press a button for 5-6 seconds to get it to change a channel. No air... More

We received a very warm welcome from this (presumably) family run & owned hotel. It was a bit of a way out from the old town centre, but if you had a car then their is loads of off street parking available. Our room was well appointed, and the owner even tumble dried a shirt for me FOC. Breakfast was... More

Excellent standing, easy to reach, with a wide private parking area. (When I'm traveling by car, my first care in booking is to find an hotel with private parking, and in Salzburg there are not so many). Very small reception in the main building, like an U.S. motel of years ago. My room, facing the nice private garden, had an... More

This hotel is in great location. Just 10 or 15 min. pleasant walk to downtown. Very Nicely clean and quiet place for taking rest. Breakfast is okay. Free parking and wifi. I think I would book again. The owners as a family managing and working in the hotel are nice people but unproffessional with communication with clients and didn't respond... More
