We paid a lot of money for a suite (#1) with a massive rolltop bath and jacuzzi (yes, in the room just like on the website photo). Room was an eclectic mix of ancient (furnishings) and modern (bath area in the room). As it was on the first floor it was extremely noisy -- street noise, church bells, people at... more

This is a very friendly and welcoming hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable and very spacious. As it was advent when we arrived we were given an advent pack of nuts and chocolates on our arrival,a very nice gesture. The buffet breakfast is superb and the pre made up muesli is just divine. The hotel is located on the outer... more

We booked her for a three night stay for our honeymoon. I had great expectations from reading other reviews and from photos on their website and I have to say that we were a little dissappointed. We had been booked in a twin room, with two single beds and although I explained to the reception staff that we were on... more

We booked this room while visiting Salzburg for our 25th anniversary. The desk was friendly but not overly friendly. No extra perks for it being our anniversary but it's not America either. Enjoyed our view of the street. Convenient walk for dinner and Mozart show, shopping, and parking (free unlike many places). Would stay here again! more

The hotel has a great location just off the centre of the old town. This could be a little difficult if you are depending on public transport but once there it's really convenient. Staff were very polite and helpful and breakfasts were excellent; good variety of hot and cold. Our room was quite (almost very) small but was quaint, comfortable... more

Very charming hotel. The room and bathroom were very clean but also very small. The furniture was very old and cheap but functional. My room had a view of a wall and service alley. The staff were a bit direct and to the point-- not unfriendly, but not warm. There seemed to be enough staff, but they just seemed to... more

We chose the Kasererbrau for its location, a prime site in the old town and near to the shops and markets. We were also influenced by the rustic charm, as suggested by guide reviews and the website, which talked about traditional rooms and antique furniture. It promised much but didn't quite deliver. Our room was odd, positioned just off the... more

I just came back from staying a week at this hotel. It is a nice family hotel. I guess the worst was the European toilet paper. Make sure and bring your wipes. Room 324 was nice and roomy for European standards. Stayed one night in room 44O. This is supposed to be a double room. Maybe by Manhattan standards but... more

Arrived with prepaid reservations (something we never do) and were told that they were oversold...sorry! They were willing to send us somewhere else but so much planning had gone into our 2-1/2 week trip we weren't ready to move; not to mention a long train day from Budapest. When I dug in and refused to move they miracuously found a... more
