We were only staying one night in Salzburg so I didn't care too much where we stayed and I booked this hotel through a reduced price "mystery hotel" thing. We were in the main building. Our stay was not unpleasant but I certainly wouldn't consider this a 4 star hotel and even with the "reduced" price was not good value.... More

It was a group trip for a choir festival, so it was a lucky chance that we could'nt stay much at the hotel! The rooms were a little dirty, especially the carpet, some of the stores were damaged and there was no air-conditioning-this year July went up to 38 degrees!! To be fair though, I have to add that the... More

This hotel may be the closest to the old city gate. just minutes walk away from the old city. Service was good and breakfast was tasty. No other meals at restaurant. Biggest drawback was no air conditioning. We suffered through a hot July night. Rooms were ok with tubs and shower. Clean and comfortable and on bus line.

The hotel is divided in two buildings facing each other but only one has a reception, little bar and restaurant (the other building has too but closed,no one there to assist you). If you need anything to your room you have to go out cross the road and get in the other building, where the reception is! Very old furniture, dusty moquette (carpet)on... More

We will not stay here again after 12 years of staying at his hotel! We have always atayed in this hotel and loved it and recommended it to our friends. We missed getting to Salzburg last year because of a back injury and after we arrived we were shocked to find out they had put us in a building across... More

Stayed at the Hotel Neutor for one night. Like other travelers have said, just because you have booked at the Hotel Neutor, you may end up staying in the ?affiliated hotel across the street, which is where my room was. You must have your key card to enter the hotel across the street. There is no front desk reception. There... More

Our room was clean enough and reasonable spacious. Pillows could have been more comfortable and the location of the shower over the bath made it a little awkward to use. Breakfasts were good with smoked salmon, bacon and scrambled eggs to complement the usual continental breakfast. The staff were polite and efficient, but this appears to be an (admirable) Austrian... We stayed here for a couple of nights at the end of our trip. It was below the average cost of a hotel in Salzburg (not cheap though) and located just outside the city gate leading to the old town, so an easy walk to most sights. The check in was fine, although they forgot to sort out a cot... More

I stayed in this hotel three nights with my boyfriend. The location is good. Very near to the old city, just in a walking distance. We had a nice stay in this hotel, only problem was with the sink that did not work, but the hotel fixed the problem quite fast. The hotel was clean and we had a bath... More

Very enjoyable weekend stay good location for the old City, concert hall, fort... Located just outside the Neutor (New Gate) of Salzburg. My room had been refurbished and was quite, clean and well appointed. Great breakfast and artistic decorations linked to Salzburg Festival. Useful tram #1 outside hotel to station. I'll be back...
