This really is a home away from home. The rooms may not be the latest and greatest, but they are clean and have big windows. The breakfast is very nice with expresso available upon request. Umbrellas are at the ready for you. Any maps or info you need is given freely. A delightful place. You can walk to the river... More

We had such a great experience in Salzburg -- and the Hohenstauffen was part of this experience. Our expectations were low, due to the fact that we selected this hotel (from home without ever having seen it before) in part because rooms were less expensive than many seemingly comparable Salzburg hotels. But they provided us with everything we needed. They... More

This place has never been tainted by IKEA. It has wacky four poster beds, space and comfy chairs. The hosts are helpful and friendly and there is plenty of parking. breakfasts are large and relaxed. There is a sex shop opposite, but I felt safe walking home at night and the walk into the old city along the river has... More

We chose this hotel for its close proximity to train station and easy bus transfer to old town. We didn't expect too much as the rate is significantly lower than most of hotels in Salzburg. However we were impressed by the cleanliness and friendliness of this family owned B&B type of hotel. They went extra mile to satisfy our needs.... More

We found this hotel to be very well placed for everything in Salzburg - the train and bus stations, the ring road and, most importantly, the Old Town. The family who run it are both helpful and efficient. Really they could not have been better. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The only thing that wasn't so good... More

We had a great stay during a weekend visit to Salzberg. The hotel is outside of the city center, but is close to public transportation and only about a 15 minute leisurely walk along the river to the old town. The rooms were a little dated, but very clean. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival and the owner took... More

This was our first stop on our 18 day vacation in Europe. We booked it because of the location (Close to trains, city center, etc) but we received more than that. Andy is the owner's son, he was very helpful with dinner recommendations and places to go. Breakfasts were delicious, and we left each morning well informed as to where... More

Very charming, quaint, homey, comfortable inn. Yes, it is old and yes, the ac did not seem to work but that did not bother us. Our guide books warned us not to trust hotel recommendations in this area, but we did not find this to be the case at this quiet, lovely spot in a great location within blocks of... More
