The Mercure Salzburg is located in Bayerhammerstrasse which by the standards of Salzburg is not that great a location to set up a hotel. The area is very much residential and away from the hustle bustle of the city centre. The check in was very smooth and we got the access cards for the room in no time. The rooms... more

Dear Sirs, Thanks for your comments! We really appreciate your point of View. The distance to the CityCenter of course is something we really can't change. The advantage of our location is the easy Access by Car, Train and public Transport. The walking distance to the main attraction is indeed 20 minutes - depending on the way you choose you...

Debjani Gupta Mumbai, India We stayed at the hotel during our vacation to Austria last autum. The hotel was clean, staff at the reception was very helpful, the buffet breakfast served was a good and healthy spread. We enjoyed the breakfast on day 1. However, there was a huge group that came in on day 2 and the breakfast served... more

Sadly we have just returned from a beautiful long weekend in Salzburg 15 March 2009 We arrived mid morning on our first day stay at the hotel and there was no problem with checking in to our room so early. The staff were very helpful and polite at the reception desk , as they were in the bar and the... more

When you go to Salzburg, you want to escape present time and "fly" to an earlier era. If you stay at Mercure, you just land in the worst expression of modern design that ends-up in a kitsch room. The bathroom was partly synthetic (lavatory) or 20 years old like the bath-tube. It looks like this was some old hotel taken... more

We stayed at the Mercure for 3 nights in July. The best thing about this hotel are the breakfasts, there is a lot of choice and we were pretty satisfied with the food. However we generally found the reception staff unfriendly and usually had to queue at reception as there was only ever 1 person on duty at any time. The... more

The hotel is modern and very clean. My room was quite large. The buffet breakfast was excellent; huge selection, fresh, and pretty good. What will make or break the hotel for people is the location. It is a good 10 minute walk from the old city which is where all the tourist attractions are. There's really nothing of interest surrounding... more

This hotel is very basic and is targetted more at business travellers than tourists. Firstly it is located quite a while away from the centre, so be prepared for a decent walk The beds are very uncomfortable and we were told that all rooms had the same type of bed. There is no airconditioning, and the rooms get very warm... more

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Location is reasonably good, about a 10 minute walk into the 'new town' and about 15 minutes into the 'old town', also about a 10 minute walk to the train station. The hotel itself was ok, it claims it is a 4* hotel, but by European standards I would say it is more... more
