There are steep stairs where you are dropped off where you have to haul up your luggage -- most taxi drivers don't care to weave through old town alleys to take you in the back entrance. We were upgraded to a suite room despite paying for a base room, and it was absolutely gigantic -- five piece bathroom, sitting area,... More

I have just spent 2 days at this hotel and was sad to leave it. The room we had was large and absolutely beautiful. I can't say enough about the location. It is is a perfect location in Old Town. A special thank you to the young man who waited on us in the Cafe last night. I found all... More

The sign over the door shows 5 stars. Although the cost per room was a 5 star price, the hotel was more like 3 stars. But the worst part was when we booked they did not tell us there was a disco in the basement that would start up just about bed time. We listened to the thump, thump, thump... More

There are very few things right and so many things wrong with this place, supposedly in a 5 star hotel category , that I will only mention a few for fear of your yawns. The taxi brings you to an entrance where there is nobody and you have to walk up a steep flight of stairs. Being mobility disabled that... More

We got to this hotel on bicycles and were cold, wet and dirty. The staff was wonderfully welcoming and took care of us and our bicycles. The bath was modern with lovely tiles and big towels. The bed was comfortable. Even in the middle of town it was quiet. Looking at the hotel from the Rudolfskai side, we thought this... More

Nice friendly receptionists, comfy room, the lightest fluffiest duvets ever. The bathroom worked well. Its right in the center of the old part so handy for that. Very speedy internet. No airconditioner, did not worry us it was cool weather. Lots of news channels on tv. Not bad value at €210 a night , but breakfast is not included.

Stayed here for 2 nights in August 2014. Travelled as a group of 3 adults and 1 child, staying in two suites. LOCATION Location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Salzburg, overlooking the river/modern town to one side and old town to the other. We simply had to walk out of the hotel to fid ourselves in the old... More

Location is fantastic and the rooms are super spacious and the hotel comes with a historical feel. What was not nice is the furniture in the room (windos broken, no aircon, and so on) but the worst part was the smell coming from the bidet in the bathroom. Even after alerting to the front desk, nothing was done. Eventually i... More

Very nice hotel! The rooms are nice and comfortable. The hotel mixes into the old town of Salzburg perfectly. It's between the end of the Main Street and the way up to the Hohensalzburg castle, with many other stuff close by. The location is very practical and is a big plus point! And the reception was always helpful.

Please bear in mind this is a hotel with character in a historical building dating from 1377 located in one of the narrow pedestrian streets of the city center and even though it has been refurbished and includes 21st century amenities, it might not be what you expect of a standard traditional 5-star hotel. Because it is located right in... More
