We stayed at this hotel with a group of friends in January. The hotel is in a great location, just over the bridge from the old Town and two minutes from the Mirabel Gardens. The rooms are nice and comfortable, if a bit basic. It is worth paying for the upgrade to get a room at the back of the...

We had 2 days in Salzburg at the end of a ski tour. The Austrotel was conveniently around the corner from the Mirabell Palace and gardens, and a couple of blocks from the pedestrian bridge to Old Town. Our room was spacious, if overlooking the inner courtyard. The reception desk was helpful and the small lounge offered coffee, tea, water...

Frequent European travelers will know that "4-star" can mean a lot of things. In the case of Austrotel Salzburg, it means like 2 1/2 stars. First, the good. Location is good, on a relatively quiet street, with a number of stores and restaurants within a couple minutes walk. Parking is just around the block, and is cheap at 13 euros...

My friend and I stayed here for three nights to visit the town of Salzburg and take in the christmas markets.
The hotel is ideally situated and a short walk into the old town and also right next to the Mirabel platz.
The reception team are the best and were so friendly and made us both feel welcome. My friend...

This hotel is very conveniently located next to Mirabel platz, where all the tours start. It is also within walking distance from the old city and the river.
The staff at the reception are all very helpfull and polite.Another advantage is the free coffee and juices corner in the small lobby. The rooms are clean and warm.Disadvantage is maybe the high price of...

Stayed here in September before we started our Salzkammergut Walk from Abersee and it was a cool little place with lovely front desk staff who were exceptionally helpful. Nice fittings and typically Salzburg style decor. Our room was a generous size with a good bathroom and bath. We were able to walk to St Peter's Baroque Hall for the Mozart...

I stayed at the hotel Austrotel for one night and found it overall to be an excellent value.
We were in Munich and wanted to take an overnight trip somewhere easily accessible by train. Which by the way is just a quick hour and a half train ride through some beautiful German countryside.
The room, although slightly dated was clean...

This hotel supposedly has 4 stars. You wonder why!
1) My room (219) was excessively noisy with several bus-lines plus heavy traffic right in front of the window all night. It was impossible to sleep with the window open. As the room was not air-conditioned this wasn't a pleasant experience.
2) The ceiling light in the entrance to the room...

Stayed here for a week-long meeting at the Mozart U. Very convenient in terms of access to old town as well as other shopping districts, bus lines and, of course, Mozart U. Friendly staff, nice breakfast. My room is spacious by European standards, but a a bit hot during this hot spell in early September.
