My family and I (3 adults) only had a night in Salzburg and we were driving in from Venice. We wanted b&b service--not hotel--but with modern luxury and comfort, a good parking space for our rented car, and not-so-city-center location, and an extra of heritage to our temporary dwelling place. Villa Trapp is all that. There is no denying that... More

If you are a fan of the movie - then there's no contest. Stay at the Villa Trapp. It's so charming, really pretty and very homey. When we got there, we were greeted by one of the owners - I think his name is Christopher, and made us feel right at home. We stayed at one of the children's rooms... More

The hotel is located about 10 min walk from the train station. There is also a bus stop and taxi's are available there. We arrived earlier than expected and had to set outside the locked doors for about 2 hrs until the staff arrived. There are several setting areas outside but like the previous review stated, none are covered to... More

This was our first stop of our European tour. We chose this hotel dispite some of the negative reviews because of the historical interest the villa offered. This was the original house the Von Trapp family had lived in. We knew going into this that this was a more of a bed and breakfast style hotel. The staff takes a... More

Thank you very much for your nice review. There is only one fact which is not quite correct. All our rooms have TV and bathrooms ensuite, except our "Basic room" which is for people with a low travel budget. We also want to give them a chance to stay at the Villa Trapp. Kind regards Christopher More

The villa has three floors with the main reception rooms (lobby, lounge, breakfast room, kitchen and office etc.) on the ground floor. We stayed on the top floor which has rooms named after each of the Von Trapp children. We stayed in Agathe’s room – who was the eldest daughter of the original family. The Directors of the film changed... More

History, history....this is the place to stay to get the complete experience of the von Trapp story. Throw in the tour and yu have it all. Christopher, family and staff are very capable and welcoming. Service is discrete and professional. Do not expect this to be a five star hotel, it is a high quality bed and breakfast so 24... More

I had this hotal booked for my me as a birthday treat as a massive fan of TOSM. My partner booked this hotel not only for the historic interest but of their supposid 'family friendly' attitude. The first dispointment was the rooms which were very clean but modernly decorated without much TOSM or traditional austrian theme in mind. Our seoncd... More

The Villa Trapp : an imposing Austrian-style house (with a railroad at the far end of the garden...rarely mentioned in reviews...), but that's it ! In vacation in Salzburg for a week, we hoped a lot from this stay and had booked a deluxe room (Werner's room) there for 6 nights, investing 259 euros per night. What a disappointment !!... More

For fans of "The Sound of Music" this is a no-brainer. Reasonably priced and not "touristy", with nice enough breakfast, room quality, and service that goes along with staying here. A 5-minute walk delivers you to the bus which will take you to the center of Salzburg in 5 stops. Very helpful with maps and suggestions was Christopher, who greeted... More

Villa Trapp is a trap. I timely cancelled my July 24-26, 2011 booking as early as July 12, 2011. But Villa Trapp still charged me the full amount of EUR 312. When I emailed them the cancellation confirmation, they promised to refund the erroneous charge to my Master Card. But until now, three long months after, they still have not... More
