Stayed here for a week, leading up to the Mozart festival. Firstly, as others have mentioned - this is not a 4* hotel - the bed/bath rooms are of a good size and well cleaned, however are basic. There is no mini-bar/air con etc and the 'satellite' tv consists of 30 German channels and CNN. HOWEVER - the hotel staff... more

Hotel in a great location in the city centre. I booked a single room which was fairly basic, not really 4 star but clean and a good size for a single. The bathroom was clean and modern. A good buffet breakfast was offered with the usual selection of breads, fruit, cereal, cheese, yogurt, etc and a small hot selection. The... more

We turned up in Salzburg having already booked a hotel out by the airport and were just planning on having a look around. We walked in to the Gablerbrau and realised we had stayed there some 9 years earlier. We asked how much a room would cost and were very pleased with the rate of 108 euros for a double.... more

We stayed for 6 nights on August 2006 at the Gablebrau, and I must say that the hotel failed to meet our expectations. First of all this is certainly not a 4-star hotel whatsoever. Rooms were average in size and furnished in a very minimal, indifferenet 2-star hotel way. The only4 - star thing about this hotel was the breakfast.... more

We stayed here in July. We're a family of 5, so we were in two rooms. I had upgraded the rooms, and I have no complaints about the rooms at all. They were both very spacious with lots of room. No Airconditioning is the only criticism that I could make, but they provided two fans in the rooms so the... more

We stayed at this hotel for three nights as part of Inghams Grand Tour of Austria by coach. It was advertised by Inghams as a 4 star hotel but it certainly was not of this standard. Our room was on the top floor and faced onto the wall of an adjacent building across a narrow ally. The room was wood... more

My husband and I stayed at the Gablerbrau for 2 nights, 3 days. We had excellent service and had a really nice room. It was a medium sized room, with a great bathroom. The bathroom looked like it had been renovated within the last 5 years. The room was really clean and bright. We looked over the restaurant across the... more

Stayed here just before Easter and had a great time. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and we were upgraded to a junior suite, without any extra charge. There were sofas and chairs in the room and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good and catered for all tastes, also the restaurant food of an evening was... more

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights over the last weekend and really enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and the beds were comfortable. The rooms are fairly large with high ceilings and parquet floors and are simply decorated. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked (hair dryer, tub, toiletries). The hotel was within a ten minute stroll of... more

My fiancé and I stayed here over New Years. The hotel is located about a 15 minute (11 Euro) taxi ride away from the airport and yet it is situated within easy walking distance of the old-town on the other side of the river (where you'll experience most of what Salzburg has to offer). Having said that, the hotel is... more
